That's a feel good lie. However, based on rest of the discussion it appears your file is approved (possibly)

Most agents come across as either of the 3Is or a mix of these ... Idiocy, Incompetency and Ignorance. It's probably because people portray them this way. I don't know if he has even raised a CSE. These days response rate is quick.

Anyways why do you really need an agent to email NDVO? Do you have your application details with you. If Yes, you can mail NDVO yourself.
Hi @cansha

Thanks a lot dear.I did read on this thread that I can mail myself. However, based on everything I have shared,do you think my file is approved and ready for PPR?I was quite confident till yesterday, but today see a lot of posts here wherein the security check has not yet started.Wonder if that is the case with me as well.

There is no way of being certain as the agent didn't mention it clearly. Or may be you didn't ask it point blank.

But in any case, you are worrying too much. Sending an email is a 2 minute job and doesn't impact your application in anyway. If your file is not approved most that will happen is NDVO will ignore your email. But if it is approved you will get PPR within 1-3 days. There is only upside here.

Its completely unpredictable. In my case, on 13 Dec the IRCC callcentre agent told me that my security was in progress. When I raised a CSE on 27 Dec, they told me that:
  • The responsible office is currently reviewing the application and documents submitted to determine if you and your family members if applicable meet the eligibility requirement under the class for which you have applied. You can expect to be contacted if additional information is necessary.
  • The background verifications are currently being reviewed
There seems no pattern.
security is a part of the background verification.

Doesn't VFS send automated emails at every stage of movement?
Ideally they should. Somehow for us no such updates are being sent. We also bought their SMS service, but it has been a waste so far as no updates are being sent at all.

Hi Friends,
I recently joined this forum and read quite a lot of posts, especially on this thread.
Writing for suggestions/insights that you guys can offer.
AOR- 15th June
IP2-16th Oct
Ghost Update-6th Nov
I am doing the process through an agent and am the primary applicant, with my wife as the secondary.(FSW-Outland).I have never ordered GCMS Notes till now.
On 17th Dec,I managed to get through to a CIC agent and had the following discussion with him:
Post verification,he told my application looks all good(VO-Sydney,Nova Scotia). Background done, eligibility done, medical passed.. (Did not say anything regarding security or criminality). He said all looks very good but I do not see a letter giving you final evaluation of the officer. At this time I cannot give you the official decision as there has not been an official decision yet. .When I pressed him on how long will it take,he took a minute's pause, and then again said that I see most of the processing is done, its just a matter of time when the officer comes back and gives you the final advice and I should call again a month later (17 Jan),and if,by then there is no movement,we will send reminder to the officer asking why he is late.(exact wordings of the agent here)
In the last couple of weeks,I saw a lot of people getting PPRs by sending mails to NDVO and I suggested my agent that he do the same.He rejected saying this is nothing but a co-incidence and we should wait for people to come back from holidays. He has filled up a couple of web forms (one of them today). No response as of now.
What do you feel I should do?This life of uncertainty and not being able to plan anything with certainty is a killer and needed you guys to help me out if possible.
My Medical is valid till 31-May-19.

Sorry for the long post but would really appreciate suggestions from you all.
Call again, ask specifically if your application has been approved.
If it has then email NDVO.
goodluck.

Thanks a lot @tobs.

Already making notes for my next call.1.Ask if security done (as suggested by @cansha) although isnt security part of background check?
2.Ask if file has been approved.Although the agent did say that last letter and official decision not yet done on 17th Dec.

Will check anyways.Thanks a lot.

yes ask about your eligibility, criminality and security (these are all components of the background check).

NDVO already issuing PPRs.. 2 reported till now.. july AORs
Were they issued today or on the 31st? Seems a few people who were issued PPRs on the 31st didn't see it till days after.

Yeah it's the same as recommended passed.
I wonder what's holding up the security checks.
God knows whats holding it back... That is the same situation all people...
1. Eligibility has to Pass
2. Security to be initiated
3. Security to be completed
4. Case needs to be approved
5. PPR to be rolled out
6. COPR needs to be received

Still a lot of processes left and timeline for non are ascertainable. So keep your fingers crossed and a smile on your face... :)

Agreed, but then why are they checking eligibility requirements when the security is already in progress? My understanding was 'security check' is the final stage and it is initiated once all other processes are done. I read this information here <http://askkubeir.com/lifeline-of-express-entry/>

I suspect, but it's obviously just a guess, that once security checks commence, a due date might kick in. Hence, the VO might be reluctant to touch the file till there is a window big enough to complete the process. My travel history and that of my hubby is pretty extensive, so I'm not totally surprised that the VO is taking (several) deep breaths before digging into this mammoth task  Ah well, 2019 is upon us, so at the very least, I’m looking at the year it’s all going to fall into place :p
@Nishika22 May not be the case cause our security also didn't start and we don't have a single travel visa stamp on our passports.
