I submitted a request for urgent processing 2 weeks ago and yesterday, the following update was made to ECAS:

“We started processing your application on December 18, 2018.”

Previously, I had only passed by medical exams and was waiting for further information.

Does this mean my urgent processing request was approved? How long does it take from this stage onwards to getting the PR card?

Urgent processing is only available for PR cards - not for PR applications. It looks like your PR application is still being processed. If so, no - it will not be processed urgently.

I spoke to my MP office and they said I can submit a request for pr application urgent processing as it was employment related.

If this is in fact normal processing, what is the next step from here?

You can do this with citizenship applications - not with PR applications.

FYI - MPs are not immigration experts and often give out quite wrong information.

Thanks. Back to my original question, if this is normal processing, what are next steps?
