That is great! Have you logged into the CIC site to see underneath your SPONSORSHOP APPLICATION STATUS it says DECISION MADE? I guess I would expect to hear about sponsorship approval in an email to the sponsorer before medical requests are sent to the principal applicant but then again I am new to this :). Also I read that once your medical is received by CIC then it will be exactly 1 year from that date that your Permanent Resident Card will expire.

We received our AOR on December 6th too and I read that SA usually comes a couple weeks after that.
Hi! Yes, Decision made was indicated, I received the sponsorship approval email and the PA received the Medical request. Im not just sure about the Permanent resident card.

I ran into the same issue. Use Application number and Last name. Don't use UCI from the email.

Hello friends,

I am the Sponsor and received first email - AOR1 on December 15, 2018. The automated email (AOR1) has UCI and Application number. I tried to link the application with my existing GCKey account. I chose Application number and Family name option. Filled-in the Family name of my Spouse and other details (place of birth, intended province, city to live in Canada). But i was not able to link the application to GCKey account. It said no matching application found.

While submitting the forms, I put in the email of my spouse by hand as she had forgot to type that in. I am worried that any emails that follow in the process like Medical Request might not make it to her inbox. That's why I wanted to link the application to GCKey.

Can anyone please help? Also, is SR necessary to link GCKey?

There was a thread that said that you had to include yourself when it asks you how many people are in the application. That might help!

Yeah but remember, these are questions from the actual forms we filled out. So that specific question is from the form that the principal applicant fills out.

I had spent a good bit of time researching what number to put in there, and I had deduced that the sponsor does not count himself on that form. So if you have a couple of kids plus the principal applicant, that would be three. As you are filling out the names, date of births, passports etc for just those three people.

Anyways regarding linking the accounts, I have tried many times now to link it, I also put in different numbers for how many people there are in the application. I have not had much luck no matter what I put in. I still try every other day to link it until I'm locked out. But its getting to the point where I am starting to put in the same answers I put in before. I've tried application number and family name like has been suggested (whose family name? Sponsor or PA.) but no matter what combination I put in, there is nothing found.

Maybe they are just not up on the system yet? Just because one gets an AOR, does that necessarily mean that the account can be linked? Maybe not, maybe have to wait a week for them to get everything together... those are my thoughts although you may want to elaborate.

And is linking absolutely necessary? It is desirable sure, but we're still gonna be seeing stuff come to our e-mail right? That's gonna have to be the way it is for a while until we get linked up, who knows when that will be at this rate...

For those having trouble linking, let's try https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/linking.500811/

I'll give it a shot when I get home. In that thread they recommended Internet explorer for example. And gave precise steps to follow. I have been using mine (the sponsors) information whereas this thread suggests using the principal applicants. So I'll give that 3 more tries, which is all I have left for today, and I will report back if I have success this morning.

Yes add yourself, so PA, 2 kids and you is 4. That's the number you should be entering.

I just linked my application just now after how many times Ive tried. I found this in a forum and it worked. Use the application no. and family name (PA), passport, put no. 2 on the application (me the sponsor and the applicant)

Ah dang you're right, I guess I got that wrong on the form eh. Such is life.

OK, so I too have now successfully linked my account. It seems the last name, first name, date of birth combo was more effective for me, with the number 4 being entered, it worked. All details of the principal applicant. Hope this information has been helpful and I hope everyone resolves their linking issues.

Hello
I became Canadian citizen in Jan 2018. I came back to Colombia and got married with my current husband in Sept 2018. And since July I temporarily came to Colombia to be with him, we applied for Outland sponsorship and the application was received (according to DHL) on October 1st 2018. We have not received any response so far, I am a bit concerned as we were married before (in 2015) and we had applied for sponsorship and it has been approved but before he even received his PR we had to withdrew the application because he was not able to leave Colombia and move to Canada due to his family situation (mother illness). We got divorced in 2016 and reunited in 2018, reason why we submitted again and got married a second time. That’s also why I came to be with him while the application is approved.
Any thoughts on this? Please help with timelines. My flat is in Montréal so I guess after approval from CIC we have to submit documents to QC
That’s for the help

Honestly I share the same confusion. Between that and having to get into the secure site in so many weird ways (I have one browser open, get kicked out of IRCC on that one, then open another browser at the same time and get in on that one!). They don't make it easy.

Hey guys! Very late joining this forum. My husband and I submitted our application and it was received in NS on October 5, 2018. He is from the UK and I am from Canada (we are both living apart, for now). Still no word yet.
