Is it reasonable to visit your wife atleast once in a year or you should visit more than once in a year?
I know most people manage to get approved without visiting at all, but I think visiting once a year is fine. There was one time someone received a PFL that objected to the fact that they hadn’t visited in 18 months, so if it’s been a while and you didn’t submit a lot of proof then go to visit for sure. No need to visit multiple times a year and go bankrupt

No, they didn’t even sent me the email saying that my file is transferred . I just figured that if it says started processing then it must be transferred.
Yes when it’s says we started processing then it’s transferred already. Anyway am hoping for DM soon and PPR.

Feb 1, 2018 Applicant here, I have received pre arrival nov 3 and bgc started nov 12. I contacted my MP to ask about my file and he just called me today to give me the following update.

He advised that everything was complete except the security check and security check can take "couple of months" and asked me to call back in Jan 2019 and they will do another inquiry to see where things are at.

Anyone experienced something similar to this and how long do you think it can take? My husband doesn't have any travel history but he has a bank job which is considered kind of a government job in Pakistan, anyone here who was in banking and experienced similar delay? I am trying to utilize all my options to understand what is causing the long delay.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately we don’t know exactly how they process the background check :( some people it takes a few days, and others are stuck for months until process is complete. You’ve already contacted your MP, so I think you should just sit right now. Inshallah you’ll hear good news soon!

I have recently moved to Canada after 2 years of my first landing. I currently do not have job. But I want to apply sponsorship for my wife. Is it OK with me If I apply now or should I wait for a job then should apply. From threads, it seems quite a long time they are taking, which is annoying and very painful.
Kindly give your expert advice.

You can apply without having a job but you will have to show/explain how you will support her (e.g. if u have lots of savings etc).

Thanks a lot. Further, I can show them;

1- I am living with my half brother as rent free
2- Can show them about 10000-140000 CAD
3- Wife is educated and some experience as well and can do job.

One more thing to know
Documents required are only
1-Nikah nama (Translated and registered)
2-Nadra Nikah registration doucment

Are there any other documents required like wife Birth certificate? snaps I can provide as proof.
Could you guys just let me know if any other documents required. Thanks

If you meant $140K then shouldn't be a problem. :)

I suggest you follow this official step by step guide to ensure you dont miss anything. It will tell you everything including country specific documents required.

I am wondering if anybody can understand what's happening in my case. So I received PFL and I responded back with a lot of evidence. After 2 weeks of submitting the evidence they sent request for medical exam again and also they have asked me to submit schedule A and Supplementary Information - Your Travels.

Now on one hand they sent me a medical request and on the other they created a tap that says upfront medical is needed? what is that mean? Medical exams are sent electronically by the panel physician to the CIC, then what does it mean when they say upfront?

Also the background check status has turned to " We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information"

I have not received any pre-arrival services letter yet.

You will receive Pre-arrivals soon. In my opinion, your eligibility is pretty much cleared. Get the IOM date for medical and wait.
No upfront medical is required, once IOM will send the results electronically, it should be okay. Don't worry about it.

Thank you for your reply. One last question, In supplementary information form what should I put? my wife never travelled out of Pakistan ever but I travelled to meet her in the last couple of years. For her I'll put she never travelled but what about me as her spouse? Should I put my trips to Pakistan as a spouse?

Check the requirement for the Supplementary Information. As far as I remember, Principle applicant (your wife) needs to list her travel history, not the sponsor. But as it's additional information, check what it says. Sponsor doesn't have to do anything after the SA. It's all about PA now.
