Oh, that sounds like it's a unique situation that most of us who are applying for inland PR with OWP do not go through. Sorry if I scared you, you might be doing things correctly since it seems that your OWP isn't tied to your PR process.
Wish everything is proper and we get the work permit soon :)

Guys, I have a question, we already received my wife's OWP in the mail and she has a Visitor's Multiple Visa valid until 2026. Can she re-enter country without any problem? She's been staying with me for a year now. I am a Canadian citizen. She just needs to go back to her country for 19 days to attend an important matter.

I've read this in their website.

Can I leave Canada while IRCC processes my application for permanent residence?
Yes. However, if you leave Canada while your application is being processed, you must meet all the admissibility rules before being allowed back into Canada.

If you leave Canada and want to return, you must have all the required documents to enter. This can include:

If you are unable to return to Canada, we could determine that you abandoned your application. In that case, we will not process it.

Is my wife qualified? Thank you in advance.

Based on my experience, I left Canada for one week and I also have a visitor visa. I had no problem coming back. They just asked me what s the purpose of my visit and I said that I live here and I have an ongoing application. Hope it s helpful.

Strange... I was under the impression that Biometrics were not needed for sponsored persons in Canada. Apparently the roll out for the equipment isn't until next year as per the Canada gov website...

There is a temporary public policy exemption for in-Canada applicants. More specifically, foreign nationals who are eligible to apply from within Canada would normally provide their biometrics as part of an application or request for

  • a temporary resident visa (TRV)
  • a work permit or study permit
  • a temporary resident permit
  • permanent residence
However, since there is currently no biometric service delivery network within Canada, these applicants are exempt from the biometrics requirement until such time as the public policy is lifted. Applicants who apply from within Canada, but whose applications are not eligible to be processed from within Canada, are not covered under this public policy exemption. Those applicants are required to leave Canada in order to submit their biometrics as part of their application.

Also very important that I forgot to mention, your wife, at the moment of leaving, should not exceed 6 months of staying in Canada, as she is still a visitor until a decision is made.
oh but she's on implied status right now and she's almost here for a year. Should I call CIC to check? is that the right thing to do? I've read in other forums that not more than 3 weeks is okay but I didn't know that that should be done within the first 6 months.

She's planning to leave next year though Jan 30,2019. She came here January 20 of this year. So it's a totally different year. I'm not sure if this has something to do with it.

So, here s what implied status means: ‘If a visitor, student, or foreign worker applies to extend his or her status before that status expires, he or she can legally remain in Canada until a decision is made on the application. In this situation, the person has implied status’. Me, for instance, every 6 months, leave the country, just few days before the visitor status expires. I have been here since March. Hope I could help.
