Thanks Danijes! I heard that Rainbow bridge border is busy, so CBSA officers are reluctant on doing landing formalities even on weekdays (Tue. Wed, Thu), there are cases people are denied landing and given an appointment later to do the landing. Could you please let me know if you or anyone you know have recent experience of successful landing in Rainbow bridge.
No you should go there by 8 am , they wont deny you , if reach there by 8 am you can do landing without any guzzle

Basically, if I don't find out about my PR in the next two weeks I'll be getting flights to Australia and a work visa and leaving England the last week of January, so there's no point really, might as well just wait it out. 130days tomorrow, I can't help but feel like they would of refused me by now if they were going to
Australia is nice place , you should be lucky to go there and more developed than canada I do not know why you want to come to canada, if i get Australian chance i will be happy to take it

Yeah it'll be fun but its only a year visa you see, Canada would be forever. Plus I just love North America more than anywhere else on the planet!

Order GCMS notes. Then you will get to know what is the hold up
If your under security screening then there is nothing you can do about it. Patience is the key

Can a CIC agent disclose if the application is under security screening? From what I understand, they have access to the same information as GCMS.

I am under IP2 for about a month, but did not reach the 5 months mark yet, so I think I am still 'in time'. Just worried about the SS.

Yes, CIC agents can access the same info found in the GCMS notes.
Moreover, if you are certain that you are in the IP2 Stage then for sure you passed the eligibility (most important stage). And now you are in the security/background checks, your hands are tied here bro, you can't do anything.
N.B the only reason to call CIC or order GCMS notes is just to find out whether you are stuck at eligibility stage, then one can take pre-remedial actions. If eligibility is passed then it is of no use to do the aforementioned. Chill and wait the finalization of your application.

I am 'pretty sure' I am in IP2, since my GCMS shows 'eligibility met', and my CIC portal shows 'BG in progress'. I have no problems in waiting, I just want to have an idea of how long, for planning purposes.

If my BG is going 'normal', I should receive the PPR in about a month or less, and I can plan my next moves accordingly. Also, my medical exams expire in May, so I 'have' to land before that to avoid spending more time and money in a new medical exam. It gives me around 5 months to land from now, and within this timeframe I have to decide in which city I am going to settle, find a job, sell everything I have, deal with all the bureaucracy for leaving my home country, and so on... it takes a lot of time!

But if I am under security screening, there is no point in making plans as it could last as long as they see fit.

I am not sure they are allowed to disclose that information.
Apparently the ways people have found out they were in SS was by seeing their security in GCMS blanked out and ordering CBSA notes.
