Hi all,

I've just received my 4th GCMS notes (timeline in signature).
There were two changes since my last one from April, one is 3 activities (2 completely hidden and one with "Secutiry", no date), and the other was in the "notes" section in the end of the notes, they added this from Aug. 20th, 2018:
"...
Label: Adm
Office: CPC-Ottawa
Text: **OFFICER REVIEW** "

I've already had an officer's review on Sep. 19th, 2017, which recommended pass. I was asked to file military records 2 days later (Sep. 21, 2017), which I did 5 days later, and since then - nothing.

What does this mean?

Most likely you're in security screening. For more details you need to order CBSA notes. @bimale4bipeople does this sound like SS to you?

@Guy293 it may sound like that you are in Security Screening because of your past armed forces bg... to be very sure I would suggest as well like @cansha said to order CBSA notes, they should the status on the missing details and also provide more info when the SS started etc. in the admissibility section

You are in Security screening, which is not unusual for people with military service, and especially if you are from Israel.

Every time you submit new documents, those documents will be reviewed by an officer and you will see those notes, even when your eligibility has been passed. It will take time, and to know at what stage of the SS process you are, i.e. whether CSIS and CBSA have concluded their involvement in your case, you will need to get the CBSA and CSIS notes.

In the CBSA notes there there should be 4 security related activities, which will indicate how far you file has gone in terms of SS.

Yeah I feagured I'm in SS.
But does 11 months since my last unrequested upload (FBI approval), 14 months from my last requested upload (army details) and 19 months overall sound reasonabale?

The length of SS is never reasonable. However, for SS CSIS and CBSA are involved. There are other agencies too, bit these two are the most prominent. First the CSIS conducts its search and then submits its report to CBSA, which then does it own BGC and submits the final report to IRCC.

For some applicants SS has taken 2 or more years.

Ah this is very interesting @legalfalcon .If my CBSA notes show 4 activities, and the 4th activity is “in progress by CBSA”, does that mean CSIS finished their report and now CBSA is doing theirs?

Most likely yes, but to be absolutely sure, you need CSIS report to confirm it, or wait it out.

Hi @legalfalcon , do you mean 4 SS activities? Is it the same as 3 SS and 1 Security? I got that back in June in my CBSA notes and haven’t heard anything since.

Got a generic reply when I sent a CSE last week.

I want to make clear that My spouse have 3 blank Activities and 4th one is security, what it means??
In admissibility section there is blank page with only two Security activities one for mine and 2nd one for my spouse on it with s(15) on top.
One thing strange is that my spouse criminality is still not started.

what are your valuable insights on this situation.
Thanks and regards

The security process is a closely guarded secret, so the thumb ruse is that if 3 months have elapsed after your eligibility was passed, then you are in enhanced security screening. One way to know if you are nearing the end is 4 SS related activities in your GCMS notes. Most applicants have 4 SS activities who have gone through the security and their application is approved. If you have 3, then you are very close to the finish.
