Surprise I got the appointment per email for December 11th.
My flight to leave Canada and visit my family is on December 17th.
Does that mean I can not leave the country?
I mean I have a valid Passport from my country of origin, and its a European country which dont require any Visas to re-enter Canada.
There wouldn't be a reason not to let me in again...

Or is it forbidden to travel after the interview until you get the PR card?
They will advise against travelling while waiting for the PR card. I would suggest rescheduling your appoinment until you get back.

Hello guys. I am posting my question again.

Yesterday marks our one year, and weird enough my husband (the applicant) just received a letter saying that the application is transferred to the local office in Edmonton for further assessment of his eligibility.

Those who experienced that can you please help me understanding why it was transferred, and how long this will take?

Thank you
I think @david_gat88 can help you.

Dec.22 applicant waiting for landing appointment, heard nothing till now. I have accompanying dependent child and he was in my home country Philippines. Was it the reason why it taking longer?cause i've been seeing early January applicant already landed.

Sept.22 waiting for AIP. They won't process based on the App received date strictly. Some people get everything done quickly and others experience delays here and there. As long as you get AIP and DM, there's no need to worry too much.

Hi @Leogirl22

What I have learned here, is, when the application is transfer to our local office before getting AIP is most likely for a relationship interview. This applies to me.

I truly recommend you to try to contact IRCC and to get your notes or ask your MP, they could have a quicker answer than all the other methods.
I just received mine two days ago, the first time it was transferred from Mississauga to Vancouver, IRCC notified me and according to notes it was only for Workload distribution but when they transferred it to my local office (Edmonton) they didn't and it is because we are expecting a relationship interview.

Every application is case specific, your best bet is to have an answer from them.

Sadly our wait time could be up to a year from April 2018 to 2019. You should also ask for timeline to process yours, hopefully it's different than mine.

Good luck and if you get a hold of them, let us know what the outcome is :)

Hey guys! I just did my landing interview today at the Kitchener office. We arrived around 8:45am and our interview was scheduled at 9am. We were called in around 9:05 and everything was finished in less than 5 mins. The officer just asked me to review the information on the confirmation document and make sure everything is correct and sign. That's it. He said PR card should arrive in 2 months so start to wait again! I will update here again once I receive my card.

I want to say thank you to many of the members here in this thread. You guys provide both important information and emotional support! Knowing that there are a group of people in the same situation makes me calm down. To those who're still waiting, I wish you good luck. Special thanks to @sylvain1 who helped me a lot! Wish I could help others as well.

Good morning David.
Thank you for the reply. I just ordered the notes (with your help on the other forum). What’s frustrating is that we called CIC yesterday and we waited 62 min to get to an agent who said that it is normal procedure to have the application transferred to the local office. I asked that agent a couple of questions that she answered by repeating what’s written on our cic site. I find it weird that they have any doubt about our marriage. We provided them with so many pictures of us around the world, and we sent them the birth certificate of our baby.. I think there might be a different reason but you made me sad to know that this may take another year.. I hope not and I hope you’ll hear from them soon

Don't be sad, remember this is my case, and every case is different, I was just sharing my situation, yours could be completely different, timelines also could have changed by now.

Now you can involve your MP and provide them a good set of questions and see what they could get. Our MP took about a week to get back to us

We also sent pictures of outing/wedding etc. And they did notice that but just wrote down "File needs to be transferred for a possible interview with the couple" and in other note "interview recommended". They didn't explain red flags or anything at all, they just want us to meet and have a coffee perhaps haha.
