Hi guys and ladies
I am a Canadian resident and have currently been living in New Zealand.
I am originally from New Zealand and moved to Canada when I was 12, my schooling from Junior High to Senior had been completed in Edmonton. From there I worked at Burger King (finished school) and then Telus, Vancity also a mechanical repair shop.....so I have Canadian work experience.
For the last 12 years I have been in New Zealand, where I made the move to IT and have a IT level 5 diploma, A+ and Network +, I have three years working in the IT field......but New Zealand. My diploma will be converted to a Canadian.
I am due to return before mid next year, I have family in BC (Vancouver and the interior) and school friends (whom I still am connected to) in Edmonton. I have never lived in Calgary, only weekend visits during my late teen years (yes....I was being a teenager haha)
I have recently been back in 2016 through to late 2017 where I scored a job with Kaltire (one of Canada's largest tire retailers) where I was frustrated because I was used to IT but didn't have certifications...but do now.
So I am heading back hoping to rent, save for a home in a couple years and get back into a Service Desk / Services Management type role.
With the cities mentioned above (or is there another choice maybe) would the best place be to start over to find an okay type job....I hear Calgary is hard because they hire Canadians first before immigrants.
Edmonton....the climate is a little cold and hot (live there for years) and prefer the scenery and landscapes of Calgary.
Kamloops would be my first choice as its a nice size, but IT is limited there.
Edmonton - real estate seems to remain straight, doesnt fluctuate compared to areas in BC.
Or would Ottawa, or something on the East coast be a good choice? where is everyone heading for a smooth (as smooth as it can be) start to begin your life in Canada?
