Hello sir, I am an md in Forensic with similar doubts... can you contact me on what's app or email . 7012520838Need guidance.
I've done my MBBS and MD Physiology in India.
Doubt no. 1: "ONLY" for express entry purposes, is it okay if I get my education verified with WES? And not MCC? Since after MD Physiology as it is I'm not a typical 'practicing doctor' but more of a teaching professor. I dont intend on practicing in Canada either.
Doubt no. 2: When I tried setting up account on physicianapply.ca , my MD degree didn't show up in the drop down list of my college. Only MBBS did. is it like that for everybody? do we need to get UG verified first and then only our PG will be verified? or is it just that their system is not updated?
According to my limited knowledge, I think we can show MD as work experience, if you have the stipend details and letter from Hod

Thanks for your reply.. so is it that residency can't be counted as work experience.Guys one thing is very clearly mentioned that IRCC doesn’t consider residency or stipend based work of ours as work experience.
Please note that while adding this in the EE and PR applications they clearly mention to add work experience after date of last degree in relevant field.
Please note that ECA is just the first step and IRCC holds the final say in the education credentialing so they can even increase your marks if need be...
My advise is to keep this work experience as buffer or over and above the minimum one year experience that is mandatory for your NOC. And if you have 3 years in your NOC after degree then nothing to worry about as after that any more years of experience don’t give us any extra points!
All the best!
Unfortunately, IRCC clearly mentions the work-experience is counted after the award of the concerned degree.Hi.
I have a MD in anesthesia from.india. Does the three years of residency count as work experience though we were paid a stipend and not a salary?
I have reference letters in the format required but no pay stubs or itr for that year as it was a stipend. What should I do? Is the reference letter with the work and pay details sufficient?
MD doesn't give any more marks as it is irrelevant in Canada unless you finish your residency training in Canada. Also, MBBS awards you the maximum marks possible! Thanks for your reply.. so is it that residency can't be counted as work experience.
MBBS alone is a first professional degree which has the same score of that of masters degree so will a MD degree fetch you any more score if we show it as an educational qualification.. is doctor of medicine (MD) degree considered equivalent to phd...
I am confused were to add my 3 year residency period during my MD so that it can fetch me some score in the CRS.

Yes any degree you claim, the work-ex has to be appropriate for that NOC.Even if the degree I am claiming is MBBS as education?
