Hi,

Good day! I have already received a request from cic for my original passport and have some questions.

I am a non-US citizen with an H1B visa. My H1B visa stamp is in my old passport (which was already cancelled after renewal). I used my new passport number on the application form and provided all stamps from my old passport. Do I need to send both my old and new passport? I want to just send the new one to avoid confusion but I'm afraid they need to see my US visa stamp from my old passport.

Also will there be a chance of refusal after passport request? I have the final decision as 'Your application was approved. You need to send us yiur valid passport to finalize you application.'

Yes you need to send both passports for the officer to see your US visa stamp. They would know which one to stamp. No worries.
Normally they request the passport to stamp the visa :)
