Hi ,

I am just wondering when our parents immigrate what all benefits they are entitled for , I mean can I have their health cards or no?

As online doc says for next 20years they can't take any benefits .

Thanks,
Rash

Rash,

Provincial health care is not government assistance unless they applied for assistance on medication etc. Even then, it differs from province to province and I'd check with your provincial medical insurance. Here in BC, newcomers aren't eligible for provincial medical insurance until they have lived in the province for at least 6 months.

But, if your parents are already in Canada, have applied for PR and passed the first stage (i.e awaiting final background check), then they may be eligible for medical insurance under "Applicant for permanent resident". Again, that's in BC only. So, it's not quite cut-and-dried as you described. It depends on province your parents are in and etc..

Morning All,

I need help, I was asked to submit my parents Schedule A and Additional Family information again bearing original signature and NBI clearance does it mean I need to submit the forms in the nearest VAC in our country ( Philippines) but I was given 3 options to do it?

1. Submit in VAC
2. Upload in CIC account
3. Email to Manila Immigration.

I have all the forms signed and NBI done and I told my parents to submit in VAC in our home county ( Philippines) because they said " bearing original signature' am I right?

At the same time I wanted to upload it in CIC account so I can get real updates but the Schedule A is 6 pages and won't upload because it's more than 4 MB, shall I just upload the NBI and Additional Family Information since I was able to upload both ?

Anyone who has the same experience here?

Than you all in advance...

if you are talking about any benefits so nothing from government nearest 20 years since you are sponsoring your parents.
They just get OHIP card:
ON - in 3 months after landing
AB - the same time
don't know about BC and QC

so email them

I will do that Yulia but will they say in CIC account that it's an overdue since I wasn't able to upload it in CIC?

If you email the required documents in the time frame they described, it won't be considered late. If you are set on uploading the documents to your MyCiC account, there are ways to reduce the size of PDF as well (see link below). If you google "reduce PDF size", you will see hundreds of free online tools. But, like Yulia said, if you email the documents to Manila office, you should be fine.

Hi how do i upload document in my cic accoun

we are on the same boat i ahave emailed back a copy of my mom’s pcc 2 weeks ago and my status in cic says exactly the same. Now, i am not really sure if they have received the pcc although i have received confirmation they have received my email. I am trying to upload the pcc on my cic account but i have found no way of uploading them . Any ideas?pls and thank you

I believe in the PCC instruction they specifically mentioned to not submit it in multiple channel as it will slow down the process; although I'm not quite sure what they would do if we actually do it.

For me, I uploaded it through MyCIC account, and there were two sections in upload section.
1. PCC for RCMP
2. Additional Documents.

I initially uploaded it only to RCMP, and leave the Additional Documents as it was marked as optional.
However, until the last day of the deadline (which was last Fri), the system still showed that they would still require, I gave it a try to upload it to additional documents section, and it finally changed the status to Submitted. Until then it was Action Required.
I did upload it last Friday, and today, I confirmed that the status of Review of additional documents was that my documents was uploaded.
Not quite sure whether it was because it passed the deadline, or did submitted it to additional document section.

Hope that it helped.

I see. Thanks. I don't want to get my hopes up early, but my Mom's application on GCLey/myCIC says "medicals passed".
Please update SS. Medicals passed updated Oct 31st, 2018.
If it is true, it is the non-scariest Halloween ever :)
My mom is completely visually impaired, needed further Ophthalmologist's assessment.
So, we might be beginning to see changes in the "medical inadmissibility" clause as announced by Mr. Hussen in April, 2018.

@Hopeful99 that is my update. Hope all goes well with your dad too!

Question:

Have they rejected any applicants on medical test grounds? if so, what were the reasons or illness that were mentioned?
