We are going to Mexico in April for vacation :) I think you can enter from border using landing document. Or apply for travel document. When did you apply?
I don't have my landing document and I they said it'll take like 6 months to get one if I apply, so yes I could apply for a travel document while i'm in the states or wait to get my PR card and have someone mail it to me in the states. Will go with the quickest option.

You're lucky your trip is still far away, Mine ticket to Mexico is booked for December 12th so not sure I'll get the PR card in time :(

if the CPC send the case(PR card renewal) for the review to the Local IRCC office how much time it takes for the review?

congrats candoit...this is awesome news. unfortunately mine still on DM. app was received July 6 DM Oct 18 have a flight to catch on Dec 15...it just keeps dragging too long. hoping to hear some positive news this week fingers crossed.. mustafacan any news?

I am sharing my timeline. I sent my mom's application together in one envelope, but the process timeline is a little different

For Me,
  1. We received your application for a permanent resident card on July 25, 2018.

  3. We started processing your application on October 25, 2018. --> Decision Made
  4. Your Permanent Resident card was sent by mail on November 2, 2018. --> Complete
For my mom,
