hi guys,

i'll make this as quick as possible.
i'm and british permanent resident of canada as of june this year. i married a canadian.

i was told to arrive before july to activate my PR status by cic so i did, i had to go home a week later as my job requires 3 months notice of leave. so yesterday i was all ready to make the move and i was denied boarding as i STILL do not have my PR card. i do however have all the paper work and a stamped and signed coformation of my permanent residence in canada. i recieved an email 3 weeks ago that i was being taken off the etsa program as i am now a permanent resident and cant travel as a visitor. ive quit my job and now probably lost the one i am suppose to start on monday.

so 2 questions.
who do i contact now? ive tried calling the embassy i london but it appears they dont take inquiries.
my pr card should have arrived within 3 months and has not.. how do i chase this up?

any help is greatly appreciated

chris

Why did you try to board without the PR Card? What you should have done is applied for a PR Travel Document that would have allowed you to fly without it. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...rvices/new-immigrants/pr-travel-document.html

You need to apply for a PRTD or fly to the US and enter at a land border.

Fastest option is to fly to the US and then re-enter Canada by land using your COPR.
