Hey guys, I doubt this will really help but.. it could be worse.

I applied in April 2017, CIC started processing my application in May 2017 and I gave my test in November 2017. I’ve been in process since then, and haven’t received any communication from CIC in more than a year now.

I’ve sent two web forms, and received identical template answers both times. My MP’s office has reached out twice on my behalf, two months apart, and both times was the same answer - “security checks, no timeline.” I’ve applied for my ATIP notes about a week ago, so I’m interested to see what the outcome of that is.

So, 18 months down the line, I’ve realized there really isn’t anything I can do but, as I’ve been told multiple times, wait. I’ve considered talking to a lawyer, but I think I have a few more months of waiting in me before I get to that stage. I’ll give CIC another call on the one year anniversary of my test and directly ask them to reach out to the office as a reminder (which they have refused to do in the past - I believe that only works if you haven’t received a test invitation yet).

Cheer up everyone, waiting sucks but it’ll all be worth it. :)

I have a lawyer but nothing changed and most of the time I do by myself and lawyer didn't help to much . Both lawyer and immigration saying wait ...
I applied for ATIP .it just showing which part is done and which part it isn't. I call to call center 10 times but just the first time after one year they didn't send the note to MP Officer. I wrote the letter to MP I dont think it will help to much .

I know how hard is this times but I hope the end you will get the good news.

Honestly, I don’t mind waiting because I appreciate how important thorough security checks when granting someone something as important as citizenship - however, I am bothered at the fact that in my case, the only reasonable explanation for this ridiculous delay is gross incompetence in atleast one of the departments involved in the process.

I have no problem with waiting as long as there is transparency and accountability in the process.
