Hi everyone,

I'm trying to start my profile in EE program and having a trouble with my work experience. My language skill is at CLB 7, therefore, I need to have 6 years work experience to get a reference number. I started working at October 2009, then since December 2010, I had 3 years unpaid leave to go study abroad. From August 2013, I came back to work at the same position in my old company.
Can I count the working period before the unpaid leave as 1 year of work experience to be eligible to create EE profile? With that 1 year, I would have 6 years of work experience but without that, I only have 5 years and will be ineligible.

Yes, you can show any work experience within last 10 years as long as you can provide Reference letter on company letterhead with the required details like job duties, annual salary, hours/week etc

Thanks for your response. According to website cic.gc.ca, work experience must be continuous and full-time paid. So, is my case still eligible to apply? It makes me confusing a lot.

You need to have at least one-year continuous experience in your primary NOC. Other experiences can be scattered. But it definitely has to be paid, without the proof of getting payment, CIC will not accept any work ex.
