They do call sometimes, but I think your status should be changed to interview needed on the website (although I heard Rabat is slow on updating the statuses). My wife spoke to someone who traveled with her husband to a village and they didn't bring there phone. When they returned they realized that the embassy had called them for an interview but they missed it. The husband returned to Canada and from there he called the embassy and was able to speak to them and explain the situation. They had there interview rescheduled to Sep 25 and they were accepted.

This is just an estimated guess but I would say sometime around January 2019. This is based on seeing people say that they are being called for interviews in September who applied in August/September/October 2017.

Shouldn't they just call you back - we are not even sure it was them that called - didn't say embassy on phone and they never left a message. Unless someone were to call back the number and get the embassy - they wouldn't even know they called. It would be more fair if they just emailed people the interview date. Just because someone missed their call because they were in the shower - driving - or in an area where they couldn't get service shouldn't mean their application should go to the bottom of the pile. There is still no update on CIC website or ECAS.

I hope they do that for us too - my husband is just panicking because he thinks they may have called and is worried they won't call us back.

I do not think they call without sending the email, as they ask you to bring a copy of the email to the interview.. Do not be panicking if they have not called yet if your application passed the processing time.. I am May 2017 applicant and have not been called till September, and one guy from April 2017 applicant and had the interview same day

We are kind of confused about the Annexe A form. Is this the Schedule A form or the Passport one. Has anyone any experience in this? There was no link or file attached to the email so we are not sure.

Congrats on the interview. I'm not sure about the Annexe A form. Hopefully someone on this forum will be able to help you out.

No we haven't heard anything. Maybe they forgot about us. I was thinking about contacting my MP, but I am not sure they will do anything as it is only a month past the 12 month mark. I have read different things on here - some saying they only intervene if your application is well over a year. Guess it wouldn't hurt to try to contact him and see. CIC website and ECAS still saying same thing - interview not required - we will contact you if this changes. I am flying back to Canada next week - would be nice to have interview while I am still here, so if we are approved we can fly back together.

The same thing happened to us. My husband called back the number and got the recorded message that it was Rabat Embassy and they were closed. I tried to call back the next day and was told if they didn't leave a message with an extension number to call back we would have to wait for them to call us back. They never called us back but we got an email about a month and a half later to come in for interview. They don't care how long you have been waiting.

I had one more question; Are background checks usually done before or after interviews in Rabat? Our gckey and Ecas doesn’t show that anything was started. I’m just trying to figure out if there is a possibility we might get the visa during the interview. Anyone know?

Rabat never updates GC-key or ECAS. Your background check is usually done before interview. You should get your visa during the interview - everyone else has been lately unless they needed to redo medical because it passed 12 months.

In my case the background check was done before the interview, and did not get the visa during the interview as had to redo my medical .. have to wait for them to email requesting the passport to get the visa.

We still have till the end of January till the medical expires, so InShaAllah I guess we can hope for the best.

Sounds like our luck! I was expecting to wait 14 months, but then when everyone started to get interview calls on here, I got my hopes up. I just filled out the IRCC webform to request information on our application (it said if your are outside of the 12 month processing time, you can fill it out). I will order more GCMS notes and try to contact my MP again when I get back in Canada.
