My OPW was approved today! Here's my timeline:
Inland Application
App received: June 8th
AOR: July 22nd
OWP: September 26th
Awesome! Great news for you. Also it seems any Canada Post strike action has been postponed for at least a week, so hopefully your hard copy won’t be delayed.

This sounds like you are checking your status on ECAS and not on your MyCIC account. Have you created a MyCIC account yet and tried to link your applications there?
Thank you for your response! I thought I was checking the status the correct way- I was just using their "online tool" to check the status. Since I was able to see that the others were being processed, it didn't even occur to me to make a MyCIC account. I made an account last night and was able to link the Sponsorship Application status and the PR Application status. Does it take a few days for the OWP to show up...or am I supposed to somehow enter additional information?

The OWP application is treated as a separate application. So you have to link another application to your account.

It works pretty much the same way as with your already successfully linked PR application. The only difference is that you will select a different category.

Most people had success using their UCI number in linking their OWP application. That would be the UCI of the principal applicant and not the UCI of the sponsor (which shows up in the AOR e-mail).

There are also quite a few guides somewhere on this forum on how to link your OWP.

I received my OWP hard copy today! Application received June 20th and OWP approved september 18th

I have a questions
I came to canada as a student and I got employed in field of health care support worker with my study permit. But, when my work permit came in today it says not authorized to work in childcare, and health service field occupation. Does that mean I have to stop my current health care job that I got a year ago?

Congratulations!

As for the restrictions on the OWP, they’re standard across all OWPs issued. I seem to recall someone being able to get the healthcare one unrestricted by having their medical completed early, before the usual request from IRCC is received.

I’d either wait for someone on here who knows for sure to advise you, or give the call centre a call. Good luck.

Same.. still waiting.
and its increasingly HARD!

Everyday, checking.. logging in 3x a day
Checking the threads... everyone else is getting it --- a few days before to few days to weeks after me and getting it and as of me still nothing...

I'm from a visa exempt country (USA) and nothing. Everything given upfront.

Received June 25, AOR August 3 and no OWP yet...
Same time line and from USA too and still waiting...!!!!!

Do you have an OWP after you finished your studies? Currently I am holding OWP and since it's still valid I did not apply for OWP anymore. Also, I emailed IRCC if I need to re-apply for TRV and OWP for change name, they replied to me and said I do not need to, since it is still valid. therefore, I am just waiting for my PR to come out.

I assume you had to provide medical results before you came to Canada to get your study permit, is that correct? That would explain why there was no restriction on that permit.

Your new permit generally won't allow work in public health sensitive environments like schools and hospitals unless you provide medical results upfront.

Is your study permit (that presumably allows you to work, with some weekly work hour restriction) still valid?

In that case there may be a chance you are still able to work as specified by the conditions on your study permit, until that one expires.

If you indeed have both a valid study and open work permit your case is however more complicated than most. Regardless, I would definitely call IRCC as soon as possible, as you risk illegally working.
