Hi All,

I got an invitation back in March 2018 and submitted my file in April. CIC has asked for some documents to resend it to them; which I did back in April 2018. I did not got any respond after that. Then they called me and asked for Sponsor's Birth Certificate in August , which I did very next day in August.
I have received my AOR in August 2018. After that the file has been went "in process" on Applicant side for few days and status has came back up to " Application Received"

As of today, my status is in " Application Received " mode on both side.

Is anyone out there, who has been selected in first round and their status is in " Application Received " mode for Sponsor and Applicant side.

Just wondering about why it takes so long to even evaluate the Sponsorship for my application.

Oh I will for sure, Thank you! :D

You can check, not sure from where? may CBSA website?. I believe they are 24/7/ . People from both sides (Canada to US and US to Canada) cross borders all time 24/7.

I had done the same for my mother in March 2017, I still remember i got passport back, i think in one week from CIC. Canada post mis-routed it.

I got PR for my mother waiting 7 years. My father passed away while waiting. Anyhow! The day I got passport and landing papers from CIC, I went to Niagara falls border flag pole.

It was snow storm warning that evening, Still I had started around 7:00 PM from GTA, and reached around 9:00/10:00PM in Niagara falls. It was snowing there as well. US side officer asked my "What brings you here today" . I said "I was waiting since 7 Years and was not able to wait anymore". The wait and dealing with CIC, MPs and Immigration minister/staff is nightmare. They can double your pain not less. Trust me.

US side officer was nice and all done in 10 minutes. Opened the door for my vehicle and showed me the way back to Canada. Although Canada side, CBSA officer get my papers immediately but put there in Pidgin hole for next officer to come and check. I and my mom has to wait there around 45 minutes. But all done with CBSA officer in 5 minutes.

PS: If I can still remember, don't get out of your vehicle on US side. I don't think they like it for some reason. Even you don't need to. For some reason i did . But over all US side officers were good.

Also do not forget to take YOUR PR card/Canadian Passport with you to enter back to Canada again. I could not recall if CBSA checked that for mine at that time. But technically you need it when you are entering back to Canada.

I wish all the best for you. Please let me know if you any questions.

Thanks

Do you mean without the US Visa? And without needing to send their passport to Ottawa?

You don't need US visa. But of course you need to send your passport to Ottawa to get PR VISA stamped and having landing papers.

I think technically you can say, they don't let you in US. They return back to you from where US starts. :) . It may be no man's land between two countries? They will send you back to Canada from there , by giving you paper, having big word (FLAG POLE) written with marker on your paper. US side officer will open a special door for your Vehicle, that opened on the road coming from US side to Canada. You drove back to Canada and face CBSA there. Don't worry if CBSA officer don't say your parents WITH smile, Wel Come to Canada. :). That is accept able.. LOL

Thank you so much for all the info. And I assume that if they are not already in Canada, then they can just enter Canada with the PR stamp from the airport, right?

Hi, dear vets:
Got email saying my parents' passport will be expiry soon. I must provide the new one in 30 days. But I can't get it ready before the deadline. Please shed some light what i should do? My application was just SA and transferred to Ottawa. Really appreciate.
