Once you are officially landed, all Canadian visa and permit (work, study) become void. So if you just have your DM and haven't landed yet, no problems, your work permit and visa will be valid. But if you land before you travel, then you no longer have visa and work permit and you need your PR card to travel, but it takes about 2 months to come. If you need to travel during that time, you can apply for a PRTD (PR travel document). But you have to apply abroad and it takes few weeks to get it.
Hi again! I consulted a immigration consultant and it seems that only if I finish my landing interview and leave Canada before I receive my PR card, I will need a PR Travel Document to get back. Because I'm travelling very soon on September 30th, I don't think I will do my landing interview before I travel back, so I should be fine with my VISA. Is that correct? Thanks again!

Updates! Today my sponsor got a Sponsorship Approval letter and I got a letter saying that "you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for..."! I guess that's what people are saying AIP? So excited! It's been exactly one week after I submitted my fingerprints to the CIC system.

I'm wondering how long it will take to get the landing interview scheduled because I'm travelling with my partner in October. Will I be able to set up the date with them depending on my availability or they will just send a date and time? What if we're not available then? Thanks so much for everyone's help!

Btw, my application was received on November 14, 2017.

Wow congrads ! Hopefuly we see ours soon too !!! Nov 16, 2017 application received !

Also, how long does the landing interview take at the Montreal office? My letter gives the opening hours 7:30-4:30. If I go at 7:30 AM, will I have to wait a long time or is it very quick (my partner has to be at work around 8:30 so ideally we would go at 7:30)?
I don't know how it goes with this pilot program. The interview itself is a matter of 5-10 minutes maximum, but as you don't have a specific appointment, I don't know if there is a long wait before they call your name or not.

Yes exactly. If you travel before landing, your visa and work permit are still valid. The problem comes if you travel soon after landing. Because once you are officially a permanent resident, all visa and work/study permits become void. So if you travel before officially landing (even after DM), you are fine.

Hi guys.

Just to say that tomorrow is my 12months to the day since they received my application. Nothing since DM both sides on ECAS beginning of August... I called, many times, so did my MP office, since august, to always get the same answer "your application is still in Mississauga and has to be transferred to your local office, just wait". On the 27 (12months + 1day) I will call them again...

That's all I wanted to say. I know some people have been waiting even longer, but this is just killing me. I am feeling really down tonight.

I understand how you're feeling we are feeling the same way. We haven't even got the last DM yet *sigh*. Every day past 12 months annoys me more and more ! Good luck maybe tomorrow will be the day :)

I received the SA email yesterday and the applicant's letter saying meet all the requirements..... and today I check on ECAs and says decision made, whatsmnext after that? And I haven't paid the fee in full, do I have to wait for their letter about my balance or do I have to pay it now?
Sept 28 applicant here.
