Hi everyone,

my boyfriend and I both applied for the IEC (working holiday) visa last winter. Long story short... I got approved but my boyfriend got refused. The reason was that he was not applying from his home country (Czech Republic) but from Australia, where we were both living at that time.

In the refusal letter it said that he's welcome to re-apply, if his situation changes, and it did. We in fact both moved back to Europe and he's back in Czechia.

He will apply again this winter when the pools re-open but we're both so anxious about it because it's his second application.

My question is: Should he prepare a letter of explanation for his 2nd application or maybe just apply without any comment?

If yes, what should he include in his letter?

Thank you so much for taking the time and have great rest of the weekend :)

So you remember that the answer to your post in December that if your permit was approved and issued you had to use it or lose it given it would have an enter by date ? So even if the boyfriend applies now will you even have a valid permit ?

Hi Bs65,

thanks for your reply.

Yes, I'm aware of my enter by date and have already booked my flights to Canada, to get there in time. The plan is that I'll fly over first and he'll hopefully join me by January.
