I have a question.
Does anyone know what is the criteria IRCC apply for inviting applicants for scheduling Oath ceremony?
By date of application? Date of interview? Date of DM (decision made)? By age ( young to older. )?
By selection from various countries of origin?
Kindly share your experience . Thanks in advance,
As far as we know there is no logic behind it lol

Hello everyone,
On 11th Sept I became a Canadian citizen. Thanks everyone for help and timely advise.

All the best for those who still waiting, hang in there soon hopefully it comes.

  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 6, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on January 12, 2018.
  3. We started processing your application on January 24, 2018.
  4. We sent you a notice on February 21, 2018 to appear and write the citizenship test on March 19, 2018 at 1:00 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.
  5. We sent you a notice on August 17, 2018 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on September 11, 2018 at 9:00 AM. The notice you will receive will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.
  6. You became a Canadian citizen on September 11, 2018.
Can you let me know what documents they looked at when you went for the oath?

Hello everyone.
My spouse sent application on December 2017. Test was completed on April 12, 2018. Passed test with full mark and no issue in interview. Interview was in Scarborough.

No communication since then. ECAS shows DM long time ago. Hasn't received oath invite - it has been 5 months after the test.

What can we do?

The only criteria which they strictly follow is "there is no criteria" :D:D:D

After waiting:
2 weeks for AOR
6 weeks for IP
18 weeks for Test and
18 weeks for Oath

I can tell you that there is absolutely no criteria:), only that most people are processed within 12 months.

Sep 12 was 3 business days ago. No need to panic. Did the officer tell you if your background checks are complete ? If they're not complete, DM *could* take several months.

My background checks were complete well in advance, yet status update to DM still took more than a week after passing the test.

Thankyou for your reply. The officer told me that my oath can be anytime soon. He told me the next step was oath. I called the call centre, and they said they havent recieved any thing about the test yet.

Hello all,

Please, I have a question for those of you who have already applied for passport as follows:

Do we need to provide references as well as guarantor? Becos I could remember that when I applied for my kids passports, we only provided and completed the guarantor section of the form - No references were provided.

Looking thru the application form for adult, it seems it is mandatory to provide both. Is this correct?

Thanks guys...
