please can you help me with this question. My wife had temporary status wen she applied for in-land. But then she became out of status since we didnt apply for OWP. Next week we have landing interview. I understand that for PR they took exception for out of status spouse. But what do we expect to hear from officer in yor opinion? will she grant the PR?
She has implied status as long as the application is still in process, so actually she has never fallen out of status. She cannot work without an OWP. She cannot travel.

To have fallen out of status is to literally become an illegal alien with no valid temporary permit nor an active application for such permit or PR in processing.

Yesterday, September 14, 2018, I finally received my COPR, about 14 months after sending in my application :) Thanks everyone on this forum for helping me out with questions. I do have one more question about next steps: It says on My CIC that my COPR document will expire in July of 2019. I should also note that I don`t have a physical document in hand at this point, it`s just an updated status on MyCIC. Is there anything else I need to do, or do I just wait for my Permanent Resident card to arrive in the mail?
COPR is the physical document. Protect it with care as you will need it for citizenship applications should you apply for it in the future, even when it expires. If you lose it, you will have to apply for a replacement.

Wait for the PR card, nothing else to do. You can also start working as you are officially a Canadian PR. Congrats.

It's no problem at all. They won't even ask about it. First, they already know, second, it's not required to be in status in the spousal sponsorship to get PR. Don't stress with that, the landing interview will last maximum 10 minutes.

No. The spousal sponsorship in itself does not give any status to the principal applicant. Application to an OWP (or study permit) is what gives a status to the PA. If one doesn't apply for the OWP, that person must apply to extend its status as a visitor to maintain a legal status.
However being out of status is not an issue to get PR in the spousal sponsorship category.

Shall we tell everyone on this forum that it was snowing today, or we better keep it to ourselves!
Oh lucky you ;), it was 26C yesterday in Quebec city, with a feeling of 32C... I like winter a lot, so I would rather take an early snow than these late heat waves! But I've never visited Alberta... it's on my to do list.

Thank you and that makes sense. The only thing is that I don`t have a physical copy of the COPR. My landing interview was over the phone. My spouse and I were sent two copies of the COPR form, which I signed during the interview, and then sent back to the officer for them to sign and date. I do expect IRCC to send me back a physical copy of the COPR now though, and the permanent resident card a little bit later.

Yes we skipped Autumn and went straight to winter ... although this isn't new we always do that

I was born in BC on Vancouver Island, never had cold and snow until I moved to Alberta ! It's been a learning curve but it's been 25 or so years now. I don't want to say I'm used to it .. rather I just know whats going to happen :p

Alberta has an interesting twist of prairie and mountains. I have been to every province except Newfoundland my daughters dance and our nationals change each year so we have been very lucky to have seen so much of Canada because of it.

You must come west it's very different out here

I was born in a small city between Quebec and Montreal. I came to Quebec city for the university and I'm living here since then. So I always had winters and I truly enjoy them!

The most west I went in Canada was Winnipeg. Well... I transited once in Vancouver airport, but I don't count it as I didn't go out of the airport. I don't have children yet, but I was coaching curling. The Winnipeg trip was for a curling competition. I visited a lot Ontario (both for curling and tourism) and New-Brunswick, but not other provinces. I still have a lot to visit!

We should all meet there once we're all done with our PR lol
