Hi legalfalcon,

I have a question about security screening.
I'm the PA of CEC ee. acccording GCMS notes, my eligibility and criminal has been passed. Recently I ordered CBSA notes and found that my wife is under security screening which is a bit surprise me. Do you have any idea that how long will it take or what is the maximum time? I don't know why a dependent is being put into SS...

You can leave your job after you filed your application, as that is when the application is locked.. You have already received the points for the work experience.
Please advise @legalfalcon

Background : I have used my previous India one year work experience and then job offer letter from present company in BC for my PNP. I have completed 8 months here in this company.

You said that application points freeze after one gets AOR and that I can leave my job now. But I just want to make sure if this is also true in my case since I got points due to BC PNP Express Entry and only then I could apply for federal. If I leave my job right now and my employer notifies Cic then will they not cancel my application?

Someone on this forum was telling me that they left the job right after PPR due to similar circumstances. The employer notified Cic which led to his PR being revoked after PPR as they immediately deducted 600 points and he was no longer eligible for pr. And knowing my employer, they will definitely reach CIC/BCPNP and let them know that I left the job.

Also, apart from the above I have one more question. Right now my pgwp is valid till October 2018 and I got my pnp ee nomination on July 19. On that it says I have to inform Cic if my work permit will expire in less than 180 days. They have also given me a work permit support letter with nomination certificate. Can I wait till first week of October to get my work permit from the border with that support letter? (Because if my federal application gets approved before my pgwp expires, I will not need to extend my work permit) Do I really need to inform anyone regarding my work permit expiring ? And also with the work permit support letter will I get a closed work permit now or open work permit? (My nomination certificate says no restriction on employment)

Hi All and @legalfalcon

Need a little help understanding where my application stands...

So, we submitted our eAPR in March with my wife’s medicals deferred as she was pregnant at that time. Requested for GCMS notes in April and the status was as below:

1. Eligibility recommend passed

2. R10 and A11.2 passed

3. Medicals of my other kids and I passed

4. Info sharing complete

We submitted my wife’s medicals and the new baby’s documents (including upfront medicals) on 17th July.

Since then the status on cic website are as below:

1. Eligibility in progress

2. Medicals passed 19th July

3. ADR not applicable

4. BG in progress

Got my GCMS notes recently (early July status) and case officer has passed eligibility in mid-June. There are a couple of activities (3 for the wife and 2 for me) under security for my wife and I and contents have been redacted under s15(1).

Can you please guide how long should the PPR take? Would they review eligibility again after adding the new baby? Would we be under the longer security screening?

Thanks!

Dear
I just got the CUTE mail to submit my passports in Islamabad. Thanks for your reply. You are always helpful for everyone.
Now I have 1 question for you. For last 4 months Im out of Pakistan. I informed CIC about this. They asked to submit new address details online in my application as well which I did. Now they asked me to submit passports in Islamabad. My question is what should I do now? What I have assumed is that I would submit my passport in my current country of residence and my family members would submit in Islamabad. Please advise me.
Congratulations! Please share your timeline. What is your country of residence if you don't mind?

@legalfalcon thanks so much for all your support during this application. I received my PPR a week ago. I was wondering if it's possible to put in an expedited request for the COPR. I've a medical mission training in a few weeks, and I need my passport to apply for visa to the country where the training will occur. I've read a few threads that COPR can be sent out within 3 days, but I've also read some that took up to a month. Would my situation be considered urgent enough if I put in a request to expedite the COPR? If so, should I submit proof of flight tickets, training details etc?

The SS is a unpredictable. Can take anywhere from 2 months to a year. There is no timeline. However, you can request CSIS notes and CBSA notes and see when the SS started and if either of the agencies have concluded the SS.

There is no guess work. Each application is different, and just because one application was processed in 4 months does not mean that others will also be.

See https://www.getgcms.com/blog/express-entry-application-processed/

Consider requesting GCMS notes, or you can wait it out.
Hi Legalfalcon......I applied for my husband's spousal application on August 4th, 2017 and on May 31st, 2018 they sent me a pre-arrival e-mail however, on June 14th, 2018 they requested to submit my husband's job history....It's been more than a year now and I haven't heard anything back from immigration.......My husband is in police in India.....on the other forum you asked me to contact CSIS however, I called them this morning and they said that they can't provide any updates......do you by any chance know how long more will they take to do the security check? as per our MP...everything else is all cleared for my husband and they are only check his security....please let me know if anyone know how long more will they take?

The facts you have narrated are very strange. Because once a PR is granted, it can only be revoked by a judicial determination. For PNP see
https://www.getgcms.com/blog/understanding-provincial-nomination-pogram/

So if your have received a nomination from BC, and you have then filed your application with IRCC, your application is locked. Since you are a BC PNP, you will need to meet the nomination conditions, but that doe snot include working for the same employer. As long as you work in BC, for any employer, you are fine.

As regards your work permit, after you file your application to IRCC, and the R10 is passed, you are eligible for the BOWP. Also, you have to inform IRCC and initiate the process in advance, because if your WP expires, and your application is not cleared, then you will be out of status.

For S15 see

If your eligibility is passed, it won't be long. Just hang in there. It all depends on the processing speed of the LVO.

Most likely you are stuck in Security. Even if it says not started, IRCC must have sent your file to CBSA and CSIS.
What is your R10 pass date?

It will depend on your LVO. Send them a CSE, email and explain. in Most cases they will process it faster.

Your husband is most likely stuck on Security screening. If you call, they won't give you any updates, you will need to request for CSIS and CBSA reports. That is the only way to know where you stand.
