Greetings,

I’m a single mother in USA. My husband is in yemen and because of the travel ban his application is on hold for 9 months now. I’ve been to Canada twice to visit. I’m now wondering as an American Citizen is there any possible way I can bring my husband to Canada?
Just being a single mother working and paying rent and supporting my husband who is in yemen living with hunger and poverty due to the war crisis. Is there anyway to help me and my husband. Please shed some light to this misery. Thank you

If you want to move to Canada as a family, you would need to qualify for permanent residency through one of Canada's economic immigration programs like Express Entry. This is a points-based program where those applicants with the highest number of points are selected based on work experience, level of education, language abilities, age, etc. You must also demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to establish yourself in Canada (for 3 people that would be around $20K in savings you would have to have to qualify). As of now, you need to have 440+ points to be selected under this program. More info here:

Yes I’ve read a lot about that. I guess there is no easy way to save my husband and my self from this crisis. I’m not willing to go live there in that war zone area and put myself and my daughter in a dangerous position. I don’t know if the ban is ever gonna end. Oh god help me.

Then come to Canada as a temporary resident such as tourist, student permit holder or work permit.

This most likely doesn't help her husband. Since he's from Yemen, very high chance any temporary visa will be refused. I really think that applying for PR is their only option if they want to settle here.

So to become a PR I would have to come live in Canada and after 3 years get the citizenship and then petition my husband? Oh god that’s a very long process. I’m so upset that this is happening.

You need to do a bit more reading.

To become a PR, you have to qualify, as already explained by scylla. If you apply, your husband would be included in the PR app. Becoming a Canadian citizen has nothing to do with it.

No - that's not how it works at all. Before you get upset, please read and research. You have to apply for permanent residency and be approved for a PR visa BEFORE you can move to Canada. You and your husband would apply for PR as part of the same application. You can apply for PR together now if you qualify. Getting citizenship has nothing to do with your situation.

Again, you have completely misunderstood how it works. If you are serious about moving to Canada, you need to spend time researching the process and what it takes to qualify. Start with the link I provided in my original answer.
