Need Mumbai PCC. Staying in US.

Hi everyone - I'm trying to get PCC from Mumbai and am confused about process.

I know I need PCC from Mumbai and US (from nearest Indian consulate).

My parents inquired about the process from Mumbai and were told to submit application through this link:

Is this the right way to get your PCC while working in US? Anyone in this group recently gone through this process? Can anyone guide me?

You don't need Mumbai PCC. Whatever you get from consulate is good enough. Check this link:

If you are still insistent on keeping Mumbai PCC, it should cover all of your stay in India and any address that you list in your application address history. Better to avoid it when it is not required by CIC.

just get a PCC from your nearest indian consulate in the US.

Just to confirm - I only need PCC from my nearest consulate even though I've lived most of my life in India? Doesn't CIC ask for PCC from places where you've lived for more than 6 mos? This is where I'm getting confused. Please advise. Thanks!

the indian consulate can provide you a PCC for your stay in India so far. As long as the PCC is dated after you left the country (India) and have resided in the US, your PCC would be valid for until the date it was issued.

Getting it from India will lead to more complications. It is always a better idea to get the PCC from your place of residence which is the US. so just go ahead and get it from your nearest consulate and you will be fine.

having a passport issued in the US is actually beneficial, since that makes the process a whole lot quicker. but yes, the current address on your passport does not really affect you in anyway as far as the PCC goes.
