I am Jan 2017 applicant with spouse . Depended child was added in July 2017.
Spouse and kid are living outside Canada .

Today i have received my GCMS notes .
Eligibility, Criminality and Medical are passed but Security is not started .

Many of Jan 2017 applicants already got PR .However our Security is not started yet .

I’m just wondering how many Jan 2017 applicants found in their recent GCMS notes that their security is not started yet

i think majority of applicants from the first half of 2017 are in the same status: medical, eligibility, criminality passed, and security not started.

it's very confusing my friend. After speaking to an agent yesterday I realized they really have no idea about this :) they are just reading whatever is in our notes, so they don't even know if the application was sent to the agencies responsible for the security check, as it is not reflected in the notes.
I think most of the call center agents are school dropouts;)

come on, don't be mean to them. i just think they don't have any sources for the information, they are just there to read what's in the GCMS system.
the issue is more systemic: it would be great if the IRCC system was more transparent, i.e. statuses truly reflected what's happening with the application. there would be no need for the agents then.

my latest ones are from April. I haven't ordered any others since then. I want to see what June brings to us and if nothing changes, I will order new set of notes after July 1.
ah ok ..
My eligibility and criminality were passed back in november as my november notes .Medical and Security were not started at that time .
The only difference in the May notes is medical which is passed . However, Security status is still same .

May be security is already started but not updated in the notes and they will just update it when it will be completed

they will never update security status in the notes. I saw other people's notes, received after they've gotten their PR, and Security status is blank there.

I don't know. It can mean that it truly hasn't started, but I doubt it. I personally think it has started, but because it's done not by IRCC, but by the third party agencies, there are no subactivities in that particular part of the background check. That's why it's not reflected in the notes and the agents in the call centre know nothing about it.
However, it's just MY opinion, formed on very limited pieces of random info and ideas, so I wouldn't swear by it.

I just found scary thing the other forum. 32-months for Federal PR process. Still no PPR. It is really scary for me.
https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/november-december-2015-cic-applicants.385234/page-492

if same thing happens to me. What I have to do?
I'm SINP-closedWP- I can't work for single employer for 32-months.
My spouse is eligible for EE.

guys any suggestions please.
My suggestion is to keep calm until you reach 18 months and then reassess your situation. It doesn't make sense to freak out right now.
