Question regarding "dependants".

Hello everyone,

I'm writing you all in regards to a question I have about form imm0008enu_2d, the 'GENERIC APPLICATION FORM FOR CANADA'.

My question is regarding the 'DEPENDANT(S)' section of the form (page 3 & 4). The section states the following:

"You must provide the following details about each or your family members, whether they will be accompanying you to Canada or not. You must include your spouse or common-law partner if applicable, and all of your dependant children, and those of your spouse or common-law partner, who are not already permanent residents or citizens of Canada."

I'm being sponsored by my common-law partner, who is a Canadian citizen. Neither of us have any children, or other people we look after. I am already living in Canada (as a worker before, now as a visitor). I was browsing the forum and read through Leon's post, but I couldn't find a clear answer for my case.

My question being: Do I still need to include my spouse or common-law partner, even though I am the one filling out this form and being sponsored, and do dependants include my parents? I'm just confused as to who I should mention here, or if I need to fill it in at all. (seeing as there's a "Remove Dependant" option).

You will not include anybody in the section, it will be removed entirely.

Last sentence: "who are not already permanent residents or citizens of Canada". Your spouse is Canadian.
