Two quick questions:
* On the Document checklist for the documents that I am not submitting( not required such as IMM5409 or IMM5748) do I need to write or provide explanation?

* Also is there any benefit for paying the right of Permanent Residency now? options are 2x$550 or 2x$1040 for both my parents, correct? With the lengthy processing time don't want to pay $980 if there is no benefit to it.

Thanks guys!

Also, can my parents list me as their representative by filling out form IMM 5676? Any downside with doing so?

Guys please help,

Wondering if the application for my parents gets approved & they don’t get to stay that very long in Canada, say, less than 2 years in a 5 year period, can they renew their permanent residency statuses by virtue of me being here?

Thanks guys.

Of course not.

Hi

You can't write gross business income. You need to qualify on the basis of your income on which you payed tax.

Example is I have company # 123456 and that company have contract for 90K per year. I am only employee in that company and give myself 45K / Year. My NOA will reflect same as well. Same will come in that column which is 45K. As IRCC is dependent to judge LICO based on your income on which you paid tax.

Hope that make sense

Good luck
Badar, Thanka a lot for the business specific info, it does make sense.

Hello follow forumers, i am almost done with my package after receiving everything from my parents which seemed like forever. No, I am stuck with some forms and I will appreciate it if a couple of you will step up to help me. The generic application number IMM 008 wont validate because I have a family of 4 (myself, 2 children and spouse) and sponsoring my mom, when I put a total of 5, it wont validate. I have tried different figures just to see. Can anyone explain why?

There are a few reasons this could happen.

  1. Your version of Adobe Reader is out of date.

The forms you need to validate use special encoding. You need Adobe Reader 10 or higher to use them.
  2. You’re using an iPad, cellphone, tablet or other mobile device.

The barcode forms don’t work on these kinds of devices.
  3. You’re missing information in mandatory fields.

When you click on the validation button, the PDF checks that you entered all the mandatory fields. If any are not complete, you won’t be able to validate the form.
Fixes
To fix these issues:

  • Fill out all the mandatory fields (those marked with an asterisk (*)). Some PDF programs tell you when you’re missing information, but some don’t.
  • Check all the dates are correct and make sure you used the right the format (YYYY-MM-DD). You won’t be able to validate the form if you enter conflicting dates, such as:
    • using a date in the past for the date you plan to travel to Canada
    • entering a future date for your birth date
  • Make sure the form doesn’t include any special characters (including spaces) by mistake in fields that should be empty. Use the backspace or delete button to remove any data entered in blank fields by mistake.
  • Use a new version of Adobe Reader. Older versions and other software can’t validate the forms. Get a free copy of Adobe Reader for Windows, Mac and Android devices.
Known issues
There are also two known technical issues:

  • Mac users: the new version of Adobe Reader (DC) may cause some issues.
  • JavaScript: The validation feature needs to use JavaScript within Adobe Reader.
    Solution:
    • To turn JavaScript on, open Adobe Reader, click “Edit”, then “Preferences”, then “JavaScript”.
    • Check the box beside “Enable JavaScript” and click OK.
After making any changes or downloading new software, download a new version of the form and re-enter your information.

Thanks guys.

They themselves need to stay enough time in Canada in compliance of RO (Permanent Residency Obligations). If they don't, their PR status may triggered a review and be revoked.

They need to be physically in Canada for minimum of 730 days in a rolling 5 year window.

Thank you both, however not necessary that taxable income is what is taken into account. WCB and disability insurance amounts are non taxable but are included in ones income on which IRCC adjudicates. NOA will capture all that income/receipts.

In my previous comment I had alluded that one cannot add an incorporated company's gross or net income even though the individual sponsoring is the shareholder, however if they are drawing any kind of income from the incorporated company then that is captured on the NOA via T4, or T4A or T5.

Sole proprietor - the income generated as a sole proprietor (most of taxi drivers) will be noted on the individuals personal Tax return that is T1 General and is a flow through on NOA , so even that is classified as a business income , the net income is what is important for assessment, if it is a loss then that eats up on your other sources of income.

Hope this helps

If the case gets rejected due to any reason, can we appeal it or ask them to consider it in humanitarian and compassionate grounds?
If an applicant doesn't meet the income requirement or the other basic eligibility requirement, there is no chance for appeal.
