By the way, did anyone else see the new notice in the IRCC sign in page saying they will be requesting biometric data starting from July?
Wonder if it applies to everyone, including existing PRs.

This thread seems unusually quiet today & I'm hoping that my post serves as a morale booster for anyone who's been waiting for their PPR since long..

PNP - Outland (OINP)
AOR - Dec 30th
Medicals Passed - Jan 24th
ADR 1 - Feb 7th (Submitted - 13th Feb)
IP2 - Feb 27th
Ghost update 1: April 18th
ADR 2 - May 01st (Submitted - May 01st)
Ghost Update 2: May 11th
PPR: May 17th

VO: NDVO

A year after this process started(OINP EOI on 19th May 2017) & life practically coming to a standstill, the PPR request has offered more of a sense of relief than delight... The ordeal is done, phewwww!!!!!!!

Wishing everyone on this forum luck & let there be a PPR storm over the next few days.

So guys, as I've mentioned before, I received a call from an immigration officer on May 10th (thursday) asking a bunch of questions and at the end approving my application. He told me to wait for an email with instructions of what to do next.

Well, I've just received an email titled "Communication from IRCC Etobicoke - Communication de Etobicoke IRCC" and there's a confirmation date for landing at the Etobicoke office on May 22nd (Tuesday) at 10:00 am.

I mean, I've never received the PPR "Ready for Visa" email, like everyone else does. My application seems to be processed totally different from everyone. o_O
Whoaaa!! That's amazing! You could be one of those randomly picked CEC Inland ones for CIC's recently launched tele-verification formalities prior to landing. That is what I am guessing.
Nonetheless, what matters is you are through!!!! Totally understand your excitement. When I got my PPR, I was screaming continuously for 5 minutes while at my work desk. Luckily nobody had arrived by then on my floor ;) LOL.
Just a few days left, start planning for landing as a Canadian PR! Do post your landing experience here.
Good luck and best wishes! :)

May I know what is seen under background check in your present status ? What was written in your ready for visa mail ?
I haven't recieved PPR yet but I think status remain the same till the time you land Canada

Kind regards
Gary
I see. Background stays is same from IP2: In progress. I suppose it may reflect a chance after the CoPR is issued, which I'm going will be soon. I've already submitted the passport and was informed that most visas are stamped within 5-7 business days.

Hi all,

Received my PPR on Thursday 10th of May and took my passport on the same day to VFS.

Anybody has an estimate on how long it takes to get COPR?

Thanks.

AOR: 19 Dec 2017
IP1: 12 Jan 2018
Additional docs submitted on : 30 Jan 2018
IP2 : 02 May 2018
PPR : 10 May 2018
Not too long. Some get it as quick as within a week. But most get issued in 10-12 business days is what I know.

I do believe GCMS notes help. It's a trend, most people who ordered it claim their application moved and/or they received PPR a few days after. If you have USD 20 to spare, I really don't see why not.
True, a correlation does exist. However, when only a small part of the notes make sense to us, why to bother ourselves with something we do not fully understand? :p
I'd rather just drag my patience for a few weeks more and save up on the $20 for a later time...

I dont think so . We ordered the notes on May 2 and haven't heard anything as of now. I really dont think it speeds up the process.

Completely understandable after such a long wait.
Congratulations again mamiojo! :)

And as long as it leads to PR, the process doesn't make that much of a difference. I received 2 PPR emails and I'm definitely not complaining!
Thanks! Yes, I don't care what the process is like, just give me the PR already and I'll be happy haha

I saw this message, the way they word it makes me believe is for new applicants only from that date - not including existing PRs
