Thank you for reading.
I am applying for temporary residence visa for the scientific conference in Vancouver.
At the last step of visa application, I was required to send my passport to Manila, which I never informed before. My flight is within 24h. I would really appreciate if you would help me.

I'm Chinese live in Japan (permanent residence).
I submitted online visa application 3 May and got final original passport request yesterday. When I contact visa CVAC in Japan, I found they only send the passport to Manila, and there is no visa section in Japan. (I went to Canada embassy in Japan but they even didn't let me in since there is no visa section and they cannot help at all.)
I'm flying to the Vancouver 5/16 21:50 from Japan. I'm doing research in physics, and recently I got an invitation to the workshop. This opportunity is really important for me (as important as you got job interview).

I really want to attend this conference, so I would really appreciate if you tell me some possible way that I can go to Canada tomorrow or at least this weak.
For this purpose, I'm willing to do anything. I will go to Manila or China if I can get visa immediately.
I have Schengen visa, U.S. visa so if I can get visa immediately in one of those countries, I will try.

I already sent an inquiry to visa section in Manila and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), but no reply yet. The telephone of IRCC only available from Canada.
Please, please tell me if I have any chance to get the visa.
Please, please tell me the contact that I might be able to get the information.

P.S.
I got a document from visa center that says " A decision has been made on
your application. We require your passport to finalize processing your application."
I thought everything completes online. The last step of "sending passport to other country" was never informed before... On the website it says 14days on average, but apparently, this period does not include the final procedure...
I think I'm really the victim of the lack of information...

It’s not lack of information, I’m afraid. All the information was on the IRCC website, although admittedly it’s hard to find. There are no visa services in Japan; they are handled in Manila for residents in Japan.

I don’t know how long VFS in Japan takes to courier to Manila. That is probably your biggest hurdle.

However if you go to Manila and submit directly to VFS there and wait, it will take 2 business days, no less.

My estimate if you submit to VFS in Japan it will take about 5 business days. You have to ask them how long it will take although I fear they will not be helpful at all.

I think you should call them by phone and tell them about your situation
On their US website they mentioned some cases they can accelerate the process for them . So , try to do that
I hope you attend the workshop
