Hello,

I am planning to apply for the Canada PR through EE and have a few questions regarding it. Anyone who has any knowledge or expertise in these issues, please advise.

1) ECA - I (Primary applicant) am ready with my ECA report from WES, but looks like my husband's (DEPENDANT) ECA report from IQAS is going to take another month or two. Can I go ahead and create my express entry profile and if picked, can we submit my husband's ECA report during the e-APR phase? Our CRS is currently around 483 when checked using the tool on the CIC website.

2) Job- My educational background and professional experience have always been in the Finance industry and that of my husband's in Cybersecurity. After we get our PR, is it mandatory to work or can I be a homemaker if I wish to? If it is mandatory to work, are we required to pursue jobs in the same industry or can we choose any other field like Photography?

Thanks in Advance!

1. Yes you can go ahead and create profile without dependants ECA and update it later. Dependants ECA is not mandatory, usually done to increase the crs score...but if you already have a score of 483 then ECA for your spouse won't be necessary really.

2. You both will be free to pursue a career in any field of your choice.

1. If the score you are mentioning is without adding your husband's educational details, then yes you can go ahead and apply.
2. You can do anything you prefer, once you are a PR

Thank you for the information.
1. The score I mentioned is when I included my husband's qualifications. Without adding his qualifications the score is 471. Would that be sufficient?
2. Great! Also, can I be a homemaker if need be?

1. 471 is a great score. You will get an ITA in the very first draw after you enter the pool. So don't need your spouse's ECA.

2. Yes you can be a homemaker. It's a free country and you can be whatever you want to be :)

1. 471 would be more than enough to get ITA in the next draw.
2. Yes, my wife is not currently working as well
