Hi

So im planning to go to Canada in Dec because thats when my visa expires. Express entry. However, i want to permanently go there in April 2019 since dec is a slow period for recruitment. So my question is about soft landing

1) In the visa application, ive given intended place of stay as Vancouver .My category is express entry general. So can i go to toronto for a week?

2) Can my soft landing be only for a week in december or do i need to stay longer??

3) How do i get my PR card if im not in Canada. Do i ask my contact in Canada to courier me the card to India so that i can travel to canada permanently in March 2019

4) To exit from canada within a week, do i need a special document since i wont have my PR card till that time. I remember someone saying something about some such document. Can anyone guide me as to what do i need to enter India again after a soft landing?

Thanks.
M

@DelPiero07 - First of all thanks for patiently asking all our queries.
I intend to do a soft landing on May25th. I will only bring clothes and personal effects items.
1) Do I need to declare these in the Customs form?
2) In the BSF 186, do I have to list every piece of jewelry that I own, as I intend to get these along during my future travels.
3) Again in the BSF 186, there is a section that states -"I am entering Canada with the intention of, establishing for the first time a permanent residence for a period in excess of 12 months and I arrives in Canada (Date of Landing)
Will this be a problem if I just intend to stay for 2 weeks and return back to my home country?

Thanks in advance

Correct, no other document needed if you have your PR card in hand.
Thanks for the replies. I had exactly the same questions.
I had a few more questions relating to 'soft landing':
-I will go to Toronto for a week in June and come back to my resident country. I will go back permanently next year. Should I mention this to the immigration officer?
-My wife is pregnant and is due in first week of September. Do I need to declare that? Does this cause any issues?
- What are the things I should do in that one week?

1 - No need to mention it. Even if you do they wouldn't care.
2 - No as being pregnant does not constitute a change in family composition.
3 - Get your SIN and open a bank account.

Hey everyone, I have question based on softlanding. I am planning to do softlanding in Feb and move back for good May/June as I have little time to prepare myself.

I remember once when I was in Toronto ( I was working under work permit) someone asked my status. I am not sure ifi they asked for my PR card when I try to go back to my current country (Turkey).

I can definitely provide an address for the card and they can couirer me but what are the risks that I don't see right now?

Hey everyone, I have a few questions regarding to softlanding, I didn't wanna start a new topic, I am gonna write down my questions.

1) Once you have a return ticket (I'lll buy round trip), can they find out that you have a return ticket?

2) I lived in Canada before and once I was going to visit my home country, at the Kiosk, the lady asked where I was living, I said that I live in Canada with temporary work permit and visit. She asked to see my visa. Is there a possiblity for them to ask me where is my visa

3) I am planning to fly with Ukraine Airlines, so coming back to my home country, would they ask my Canadian visa? Ukraine is not a visa required country

4) Do they ask fo extra documents after I applied for PR card? I can show an address and provie extra photos to me friends but if they ask something else, that would be pretty hard to manage.

5) If I apply for PRTD when I come back, wouldn't they ask where is your PR Card and why would you apply?

I'd greatly appreciate you guys can give me some insight.
I am planning to land in Feb and move for good in June/July.
