PR Card Photos rejected

Got our photos rejected for PR card for my wife and myself. They didn't explain the reason, but comparing with good ones here in Canada, I can see that the head was too small (min 31 mm) and the background color wasn't really white. Too bad I didn't have these when I sent them. We originally took them in USA in Walgreen's using the Canadian passport settings (yes, photo machines have this but you need to ask); I think those settings are right, but please make sure they have a completely white background and bring a ruler so you can measure against the instructions, they play with the zoom for it.
Here in Canada we re took them in Walmart Portrait studio. They are very professional, have a template and know everything about it but I double checked them just in case, big difference, hopefully these will work.

In terms of Timeline, please provide any feedback around yours. Will be good to know if they take same days for PR processing or if it's shorter.

Photos Received in CIC: 1/29/2018 (estimated)

Further update on the situation, I did not recieve and email for my kid but they rejected the photos for him as well... Sending the letter to my Canadian address, now I have send their pictures as well, let's see what happens...

Are you saying you found out your child's photo wasn't accepted because a letter was sent to your Canadian address? My husband and I got emails that our photos weren't accepted but we have nothing regarding our child and haven't given CIC a Canadian address yet. I hope their photo hasn't been rejected as well. We just got our emails yesterday and are debating humoring them by getting photos at our local Walgreens here in the US again and probably having them rejected again or putting in a CSE to ask for an extension since we'll be moving to Toronto in 5 weeks and would rather just get photos there in hopes they'll work better. I wasn't able to make a call to CIC work today but may try the closest consulate and see if they can help at all.

Oh, thank you, that's great! We'll have to try that Monday and confirm our extension or lack thereof situation. We already tried Google Voice but the tips on extensions to use elsewhere on the forum were outdated and frankly, at this point we have so much going on we had to put it on the back burner.

Good luck with the new photos! I hope your kids are old enough for them to be simple. We have a toddler, so thank goodness for digital photography! Even so, I hope by some miracle hers was accepted so we don't have to try again.

Wanted to update the forum on this timeline:

PR card issued: ?? (didn't know how to track this)
PR card delivered: March, 1st

Just receive our Cards today , so I would say that currently it takes approx. one month to generate PR card after you send the right pictures, for these type of cases. Dates are assuming you're in Canada.

Depending what you mean by "after", you can request it at "landing", when you meet the Canadian immigration.

So I got the same letter n I am currently in India. This is what I did

- I went to a local photographer with the specification, got it clicked, verified the spec myself using a ruler.
- Got the stamp of the photographer at the back
- Wrote my name and DOB
- Sent the photos to my uncle in Canada who received the letter. He posted the photos with the letter to the PO box
- After 2 weeks I called the Call center and they informed that my PR card is on it way
- Once the PR card is delivered to my uncle, he will courier it to me n I will be on my way in June

Just follow these steps and it should be ok

They also ask to write name and address of photo studio. I am also in same situation. I can send photo to my friend in Canada who can then forward to concern address. But if I have to provide photo studio address then it will be evident that photo was not taken there .

Please advise on what will be the best way to them and avoid 2nd rejection.

Yes, you can send photo from outside. Ensure that your lips (or there lips) are closed, and the photo meet specifications.
My photo was rejected just because of my lips were slightly open

They don't take photographs. You need to carry them.

The photo on your CoPR is the one that will be used for your PR card. You dont need to carry any extra photos. Good luck.

I did my soft landing and returned to India. I am planning to go back with PRTD in a month pr so. However, my photo got rejected, and now trying to figure out the best way to send my photo back. I see people in similar situation took the new photo in their respective country, and then mailed to their friends/family in Canada to forward the same to IRCC.As per the IRCC requirement, backside of the photograph will have the address of the studio as well. Is there a problem if photo is directly sent to IRCC from outside Canada?

Just to update you from my last post here. I took my third set of photos at "Staples". Their professional camera has settings as required by CIC dimensions of your face features. I sent my application for the 3rd time in January and got my Visa in May 2018. They emailed me one month ago to let me know they have received my application.
