After May 12, no ceremony scheduled for May 16 and 19.. may be because of the long weekend. After May 23, need to see if they are scheduling more on May 26 and 30.. so far no updates.

Question to all who knows! When DM happens does it mean your appplication is done and waiting for oath only? Is it also possible that security , background clearance is still incomplete even DM or DM means everything in the application is done except oath ?

In most of the cases, DM means everything is done. However we have seen very few exceptions, where they go to DM and then back to IP.. and after sometime made DM again.

Sometimes I think the security clearance expire and they have to redo it that’s why it change hopefully you will get Oath Invite soon.

Omg..they delay our Oath, and then delay us more cause some checks may have expired!!
I think that’s why Mississauga give some people Oath Invite right away or within a couple weeks but Scarborough I don’t know what they are doing, there was 3 forum members in Scarborough in December who had their Oath Invite cancelled because they security clearance expire.

This is insane..so its not just an old-fashioned slow bureaucratic machine, its also out-of-sync at times!!

We all know the problems. At times we get frustrated. What is the workable solution, any idea
IMO, part of the problem is that we don't know the process well enough to really understand why certain things are happening. It seems obvious to us that applicants that have DM status should have oath invites scheduled in some meaningful order, such as AOR date (I think this is loosely followed), but there is likely more to it than a simple date.

Perhaps it's because they are satisfied with the applicant and have given them the status of DM, but are still waiting for something to come in to complete the file and so it doesn't make it to the oath scheduling pile just yet. Perhaps there is a grouping of DM applications ready for oath scheduling that encompasses a range of dates and that stack is out of any sort of date order. Or on the scarier side, perhaps the file is sitting on a desk and hasn't properly followed up on it. There are many possibilities here and don't forget that they are processing 10's of thousands of applications through that office at any given time.

However, all of that said. How can it be changed? There would have to be political pressure applied to the appropriate ministry via MP's in order to start some change. But, unless a great deal of applications aren't completed within the prescribed time frame as advertised by IRCC, they don't have any reason to change. There will always be applicants that fall outside of that 12-month window, which is why they don't say they will finish ALL applications within a time frame. And because we all have individual experiences that are being evaluated, they can easily say that we can't compare the processing of our application to anyone else.

It's frustrating to be sure. Patience is the only thing right now.

I think the best we can do is to not think about the citizenship application at all and focus that attention to our day to day lives.

One fine day, the Oath invite will come on its own..
