Hello Razerblade,

I checked with CIC via call via facebook and checked with few immigration agents( was not a paid advise just on the fly kind off..so i'm not sure how honest they were) but anyways, I want to conclude with what I'm going to do in my scenario so that anyone else in same boat can use this information:

1. As I'm not sending my birth certificate so my application will be incomplete and it will be returned and I have to go through the whole lottery process again and who knows how long I have to wait ..so to avoid this. I'm attaching a LOE that why I'm not sending/including my birth certificate.
2. I received the Non-Availability certificate from "Birth and Death Registrar" office India in Punjabi so I will be attaching a photocopy of that ( attested from india) and English translation of that certificate ( notarized from India) .
3. Now the above docs are for not sending my birth certificate but to prove my relationship to my father ( sponsor and principal applicant)
4. I'm attaching copy of my surrendered Indian passport, as it has my father and mother's name ( missing last name from both)
5. For the missing last name I'm attaching affidavit from my father and mother saying that their names are First Middle and First Middle and Last ( from both mother and father)
6. I will be attaching my Indian Driver license copy as it has my fathers name as well.
----------------
Rest I will leave it to the officer and they can ask for more documents if required.

Hope this helps, if someone is also struggling with the similar situation.

Thanks,
Glad you did your due diligence and found a solution. Hope it all works out! GLTA

Just provide a copy of your expired PR card. It’s unnecessary to provide explanation as your status as a PR resident doesn’t end with expired PR card.
Sorry to interject, but based on my experience, it's always good to provide explanation letter with summary and explanation about/ for deviation, exemption request or unavailability of a document. Explanation letters serve two purposes, it demonstrate to the IRCC officer that you have not willingly forgot a document or provided an expired PR card and it gives some useful leads to the officer which eventually helps in saving time.

Guys, I just want your opinion about something. When my mother signed and couriered the forms to me, she also stapled the forms. Do you suggest removing the stapler pins and using paper clips instead? Or do you think I can send the forms with the staples? I can obviously remove the pins but that will leave those tiny holes in the pages.

I could be wrong but I heard from someone that stapling the forms is not allowed so I have only used the paper clips on my previous applications (PR and citizenship etc). Please advise.
Remove staple pins, I have heard from an immigration consultant that IRCC doesn't like staples. The tiny holes after removing the pins are not going to pose any problem. Just use an easy paper clip to keep the documents together.

Hi All,

Can my parents scan the Schedule A form after they signed it then send it back to me via e-mail?

Or they have to send the physically signed form through a courier to me?

*It says on my invitation letter*
The Schedule A- Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) available on IRCC’s website should be completed electronically, validated and printed. Please ensure that the signature on the form is done by hand once it has been printed;
Thanks
Your parents have to sign physically in IMM1344;IMM008;IMM5406 FOR BOTH;IMM5669 FOR BOTH.They will send you the signed copies through regular mail;not email.

There are 15000 lottery winners. Is it true that even if you have been selected, but they have already got 10000 applications, your application will be refused?
There was absolutely no info from IRCC to indicate this.

Assume that if you were selected in the lottery, your app will be accepted regardless if they get over 10K. If there was a hard cap at 10K they would have needed to mention this as it would have caused many to get their app completed and mailed a lot quicker.

Hi

See last point

Regardless of who you are sponsoring:
  • Always check country specific requirements before submitting your application.
  • For some countries, originals of certain documents are required. In these cases, you must submit the original and not a copy. If you do not submit original documents when required, your application will be returned as incomplete.
  • Don’t use staples, binders, plastic sleeves, folders or albums to submit your application. Elastic bands for photos or paper clips are acceptable.
Thanks

Hi Guys, great discussion and information.

I don't have a Birth Certificate (born in Punjab, India in 80's) to prove my relationship with my parents. However my 10th class certificate has my Father's Name. and few other education certificates has my father's name on it. I am planing to use that and provide an affidavit as a declaration. Will that be sufficient?

On the same notes, my parents don't have a marriage certificate, but passports with each others names, and they are also preparing the affidavits in India that they are married? Will that be sufficient?

  • My parents has visited Canada on Visitor visa in 2014, how can I find their UCI#. it is written on Visa stamp?
  • On Financial Evaluation for Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship (IMM 5768) Question 9 (Details of your family members and persons included in undertakings in effect or not yet in effect, if applicable, your co-signer) and 10 (Complete this section only if your spouse or common law partner is a.... ) and 11 (Your spouse or common-law-partner, if he or she is not co-signing the undertaking), Should I put "Not Applicable" in several sections which I don't need to fill or just leave those blank?
Question for experts. Do we need to mention that UCI # ? I have also UCI # for my in laws which was issued for their super visa ? Should I mention that on IMM5669 (Background Declaration Form)

Question 1 as per guide

If you have a UCI number (Unique Client Identifier), write it here. If this is your first time dealing with IRCC, you will not have a UCI. does it count even old UCI # ?

urgent help will be appreciated

Thanks

For Birth Certificate, you can follow exactly what iengineer86 suggested in one of the previous posts:

Prepare a Letter of Explanation and mention that you are unable to provide a birth certificate because........ (provide the reason for example, you lost it, you parents never applied for a birth certificate etc.). Also mention that, in order to provide alternative proof for your age and relationship with your parents you are providing copies of following:

  1. Get a Non-Availability certificate from local "Birth and Death Registrar" office in your hometown/ city in India. Attach an attested photocopy of Non-Availability certificate and if required, provide the English translation of that certificate (the translated document must be notarized too).
  2. Provide the copy of your Indian passport (pages showing your date of birth and your parents name).
  3. Any other official document from India which has your date of birth i.e. Voters card, Driver license etc.
For Marriage Certificate, your parents can get an AFFIDAVIT as an alternative for marriage certificate, it can be issued from local government office or magistrate. Make sure that the affidavit has their passport number written infront of their name. The affidavit must mention the marriage date and place which they have provided in other documents. Also, affidavit should highlight the fact that under the spouse section of one of the pages of passport, both of them are mentioned as husband and wife.

Attach the original affidavits with the application, but make sure you keep a photocopy of those for your record.
Hopefully this helps! Good Luck.

I'm so glad that we have nice people like you here on the forum who are helping ..
Out of your suggestions I have few questions;
1. "- Make sure you check/ pick option one in Question 1 of Part 1: Application to Sponsor and Undertaking IMM-1344 Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking (The option one is - sponsorship application will not be processed. All fees will be refunded, except for the $75 sponsorship fee.)
"
Actually I picked - - "Proceed with the application, Processing fee will be retained."
I'm not sure if that matters or not but my take was that I want to proceed with the application even if the found me ineligible for some reason so that I can fight my case. Considering the Lottery system I don't want to lose my chance.

2. In regards to "- In Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669), make sure you get your parents signatures after typing their full name in the box."
My invitation letter says:
The Schedule A- Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) available on IRCC’s website should be completed electronically, validated and printed. Please ensure that the signature on the form is done by hand once it has been printed.

So, actually I delete the name of my parents from the signature box and asked them to sign it manually but now i'm confused.

Please shed some light as they are planning to send all the docs tomorrow as I'm running out of time as well.

Thanks

Happy to help :) We are here to help each other and provide confirmed and honest information.

1. As per instructions in Guide 5772, we are suppose to pick the first option, please see the below screenshot from the guide

2. You should keep the TYPED name of your parents in the box and then print or email the form to your parents, so that they could manually sign in the space left after the TYPED name in the box. I hope I was able to clear the confusion. This is only for the form 5669. For other forms you are not going to type their names in the signature section. If you email the forms to your parents, make sure you remind them to follow the following steps:

  • Download and Save the form
  • Click validate button (IMM 5669, for your Father and Mother; IMM 0008)
  • Save again
  • Print the form
  • Sign in the box, infront of the typed name
I will recommend you to email them the documents, and once they receive the DOCUMENTS you can go through them on phone (while keeping the forms open at your end). Only few days are left, so emailing the forms will help. What I did in my case, I recorded a guidance video in which I explained wher eto sign, where to put name, how to validate etc. I create dthat video for each form and each of those videos were just 1 minute long or so. After they sign the document, ask them to courier the documents via DHL or FedEx via their fastest delivery method.

Hi PankajK,

During my chat with CIC call center staff they were not much impressed with Educational documents they were looking for Birth certificate, then they said Family Card and I believe that is Ration Card or if you have indian passport as that has Parents information.
No one esuggested but I'm thinking about sending Driver license as well, as it is a national identity, if you had an adhaar card before coming to canada then that will also work for sure.
I'm not sure what affidavit your are planning to provide but they said affidavit can come if the officer asks for it.

Your parents can still register their marriage as my parents register their marriage few year back even they were married in late 1970's.
