Hello,

My partner and I have been together for 1.5 years and are looking to get married. We've been living together for 5 months and are wondering what our chances of rejection for 'spousal sponsorship' may be if we decide to apply right after our marriage. We currently live in England but I am hoping for us to move in with my parents soon after getting married. I have many sources of proof regarding our relationship (evidence of conversations, we have always lived within close proximity, we've travelled together many times, we have both met each others' family and friends from our original countries, a shared bank account, etc) but with so many rejections I would like to plan in advance. Patricia (my partner) is Brazilian with a dual citizenship and I have both Canadian and Portuguese citizenship. Could you please assist with any possible advice?

Thank you,

Brittany

We got married in December and sent our app in February. It's fine.

Based on the details I've mentioned, do you see any other glaring problems that may occur? I recognise every case is different, just thought I'd ask.

Thank you very much for your initial response by the way!

I'm not sure what you mean by "with so many rejections". There are far more approvals than rejections. If you relationship is genuine and you have all the data to back it up that is outlined on the checklist, there should be no reason for rejection.

Hi Guys,
I'm new here.
How long does it typically take before you hear a response for Outland sponsorship of Spouse? I know my wife's application was delivered (Postal tracking) during first week of April. But I have not heard anything from CIC (no acknowledgement of receipt or anything).
I'm just curious if this is normal. Thanks

This is completely normal. Most people wait 45-60 ish days before they get their first correspondence with the CIC. Their goal is to have 80% of applications processed within 12 months. Some countries and some straight forward cases are being seen to be processed in as little as 5-8 months but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Hi guys
AOR 1 26 march than immediately medical request, pcc, schedule A. Everything submitted and medical passed. Two weeks ago we got an email saying our case would stay in Mississauga instead than going to the visa office in Rome. Today they updated GCkey saying Background check are now in progress, do you think it is a good sign?

That’s totally fine. Mine was transferred to VO on the 20th and got aor2 on the 30th of April. Some don’t get aor2 email but it will reflect in your ecas the date they started processing your application.
