Hey Mary ,

I got mine returned too that i had submitted in February and i resubmitted it today via canada express post. So good luck to both of us.
Can I ask what info was missing when the application was returned to you? I sent my wife's sponsorship application last week.

We had our application from Feb returned. When I called on April 23 they told me they were opening March 20 submissions so that is about 5 weeks 35 days out. We have just resubmitted it so hoping for June 1 opening. Good luck to everyone that is waiting.

I submitted my application last week of March through a lawyer, and on the 9th found out that the application was returned because they made some changes (Criminal Check) at least that's what my lawyer said and now have to wait for my wife to get the criminal check done(already done should have it by Monday).

Just wanted to ask if I should continue with the lawyer as he should have known before he sent it in. If I don't I will lose $1,100.

Thanks
how did you find out your application was returned did you call in ?

I just mailed our application this morning for me to sponsor my husband (France)... But now I am freaking out a bit because I realized that I filled out the form with my work information in March, but then I also started a new job in March. My letter from my employer is from my new workplace - it's dated in April but lists my start date in March. Both jobs are federal government departments. I'm really stressing because I guess it will take about a month and a half to even know whether this will cause an issue with the application. Anybody heard of any similar cases?

Hey i missed copy of my PR card accidently (it was something that i also don't know how and why happened) because i did attach it with my file but they didn't find it with application package and when they returned my pacakage back to me , i didn't find it either. So it was bad luck we can say but now i resent my package yesterday with new updated forms and everything , reived today and have my fingers crossed. Thanks for asking anyway.

Hello All,
I recently applied for my husbands PR, it was delivered today. I'm a little nervous as this is the second time I have sent it, it was returned in Feb for missing info...fingers crossed its good to go this time!
Hey don't worry because i've been through with same situation as yours , i sent my husbands's file in feb and got it returned in april and now i sent it back with all updated forms and PCC upfront and my package got received today , so good luck to both of us :)

Your spouse needs to get his police clearance from the country he spent most his life in. E.g. I have lived in Canada for most of my life so I would have to get a clearnce from the Canadian police station.
Yes, and no...

If you've spent time in Canada there's a different process. IRCC specifically says that it will do the necessary in-Canada background checks: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=037&top=4

However, if you do have to submit a Canadian Clearance letter, it has to come from the RCMP, and not the local police:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=857&top=4

Everything else you've said is accurate, however, your example is one of the exceptions and therefore a unique case. Were it not Canada but any other Country, then you are completely right.

I´m PA in common law app, 2 children, and 1 from my partner. My question is, should I include my stepson (living with his mother in another country) in the form 0008 generic app, and in the 54406 additional family information? He can not go to Canada with me has another mother plus, he is not my dependent child but from my partner.

My bad guys! Lol I got way excited that I saw it on the spreadsheet but didn’t see it was Inland.
Even though it should be about 35 days from receipt to opening for Outland. So April 2nd could be opened week of May 7th. Good luck to all. Waiting is so hard.
