Civil wedding in Canada with TRV

Hi,


My fiance and I were planning to do civil wedding in Canada first so we can already process the spousal sponsorship ASAP. I just have some concerns about it

1. Can we already apply for spousal sponsorship right after our civil wedding?
2. Can I just extend my stay there while waiting for the result of our application?

How long does it take for the extension process? Is it going to be Inland or outland?

processing times depend, 30-45 days. But once you submit the application to extend your stay, you will have implied status (i.e. you can stay in Canada even if your visa expired, but can't leave and reenter)
