You're right. Moments ago I received a sponsorship approval letter from my consultant But its dated April 20th. So now the file is transferred to ottawa which I think gonna take forever to process them.

Hello everyone. I have applied for sponsoring my parents in 2017 and now it is in 'Application received' status. I have already got SA. Background check, Police clearance, Medical Request have not been started yet. Visa office is Ottawa. Any idea how long it gonna take to complete the process? My parents have visitor visa (currently they are in Bangladesh) and they are planning to visit Toronto in July and might stay for 2 months. Is there any problem with that?Like if there is Police Clearance or Medical request issued during their stay, then how can it be managed? Will they need to go to Bangladesh if CIC asks for those papers?It would be great help if I could get your kind advice in this regard. Thanks in advance.

Applicants from May 2017 haven't heard from Ottawa yet so I don't anticipate any movement in your case by July. Even if they're asked for IME and PCC, you'd have 30 & 60 days respectively to submit and would have sufficient time to decide.

Did most people here opt to pay the entire fee (including Right to Permanent Residency Fee) upfront ? For sponsoring two people, fee will be $2,080 if paid upfront.

I paid PR fees after receiving the medical examination request. They requested a proof of payment to be sent to the visa office along with the police certificate.

You can apply if your spouse has worked in canada for last 3 years and meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor parents. Your spouse will have to be the co-sponsor in this case.

Hi, I am in the same boat. Not sure when ECAS status changed but I only noticed it today. NO email from CIC.

I sent email to VO in New Delhi but no response. This is crazy that some VO process so quickly and others are so lazy. There has to be a standard so systematic imbalance is avoided.

It could probably be because of the workload and resources of each VO. Who knows.
