Regarding HCP (French Speaking targetted), do you know by chance if this target also applies if the spouse is the one who has strong french?

In our case, my husband is the ppal applicant and has points with english IELTS. I add points to him, with my french (TEF).

Thanks in advance,
Nope.

The primary applicant must have both languages. So you can make your profile and make your husband dependant (it is allowed for both - husband and wife to have their own profile). But in order to be visible for Ontario, you need to have English as well.
Or your husband needs French.

Well I beg to differ here. I know a lot of people who have landed recently and have secured a job. Its a lot about your attitude and personality. Employers look for these traits in the interview. If you have the required skills and the right attitude, you can get a job with a little struggle.
Hi @Maverick28

Hope your first month in Canada went well. Can you please share your experience so far? or link to the thread if you have already done so. Sorry for the post here as i am unable to send you a message probably due to your profile privacy settings.

Hi...I am sitting at 438 for the past 4 months and losing hopes now....can anyone suggest if I should retake the IELTS exam...although retaking it will increase my points to 441...

CRS- 438
IELTS - L-8.5,R-8.5, S-7.5,W-7.0--overall 8.0

Thanks
If money is not an issue, i would suggest to go for it and test your luck. These days people regret for months and years after missing ITA by just 1 point. So you should be in better position as long as you can afford and see what happens.

It would be for the primary applicant, did you try checking scores by being a primary applicant and husband as dependant? And then if you also take ielts and show two languages proficiencies you might end up having a better score. As I don't know other factors in your case, so can only ask you to use calculator and see the results being the primary applicant.
Thank you. We used it and compared both results. My husband has 434 points but I only get 400 (because of my french writing score... it is level 8, and he accomplished CLB 9+ in all four skills, so he obtain more points because of that).

Too bad that they don ´t target french speaking spouse, only primary applicant :(

Sure I had 334 points before I got my NOI.
French speakers do not have to have 400+ points. But you need to have French and English.
Good luck.

Thank you. Really?? :O
I thought that we couldn´t have both an express entry application at the same time (one with me as primary applicant and one with me as accompanying). I thought that we had to choose.

I have both languages (IELTS and TEF), but he is the primary right now (even if he only has english) bc he got more points than me (him 434 vs me 400... cuz he got CLB 9+ in all 4 skills and I got 8 in my french writting)

Last piece of advice. Follow the OINP website, as they are a bit lazy and only check new profiles.
So either they will send you NOI now (if they will send some for French speakers) or you need to wait a bit and once you see that hey started to send NOI again, you need to recreate your profile (again they only check recent profiles).
good luck

Hello All,
I have a question in the EE form for the field 'first became qualified to practice in this occupation'.
Do I need to enter the month my studies/exam ended OR the month I got my degree ?
Like I my classes and exam ended on April 2009 but got my formal degree in May 2009 for my post graduate diploma.

Hello guys, I have a unique issue here that I am looking for some advice.
My CRS score is 440. I submitted my OINP application back in March, still with no change in the status ( shows submitted in website).
Meanwhile, I am also applying to business schools in Canada for MBA. And some very lucrative offers came from schools outside Ontario.
Which brings me to my question- if I accept OINP, and get PR status, can I study for two years in a different province other than ontario?

Thanks in advance :)

So got my spouse IELTS results today, though expecting more but seems fine for the effort put by my non native English speaker spouse. I will be adding 6 more points to my CRS 438 to get the total up to 444 as soon as the TRF is available. If someone can confirm that the below formula holds true then I can try to generate the TRF number now and update the score.
2 digits of year then 2 letters of country code then 6 digits of ur student number on exam day then first 3 letters of ur last name then first letter of ur first name then 3 digits of centre code and then G for ielts general..
