Submitted Passports December 4th to VFS in Abu Dhabi - still no update. If you track it online it just says under processing at the Canadian Immigration Office in Abu Dhabi. My family had to travel Dec 16th - already cancelled those tickets hoping we get them before this week ends as Dec 24/25 the embassy is off

turns out after I posted this, an hour later I got a call from VFS that the passports were ready. SO that was great
Dec 4th submitted in person to VFS Abu dhabi
Dec 18th - got a call from VFS to come pick up the passports (I opted to go pick them up - quicker if you really need your passports back asap)

Interestingly the date of issue is dec 13 so not sure the time it takes after that is for VFS processing?

Did you send them an email requesting the status of ur passport stamping? I submitted it on 17th December 2017 at VFS Abu Dhabi.

Yes. I got it back on 26th December after the holidays. All the procedure seemed to be pretty quick. From AOR to COPR, it was total of 28 days. and I think that too was because of few holidays.

Hello,

I was told by VFS Dubai that we will get our passports back after stamping within 4 weeks.

It has been 4 weeks for yesterday and I visited VFS to follow up on why there is a delay. When I was told that the processing time for PR visa stamping is 15-30 working days. It seems they are changing their TAT for their convenience. I have written to VFS & IRCC making an inquiry to get the passport ASAP, as I may have to travel soon. I’m unable to make the relevant arrangements as we haven’t received our passports.

Has anyone faced such an issue recently & how long has it taken to get your COPR/Visa stamping on the passports?

Hello,

We handed over our passports to VFS as this was the preferred method of sending the passports to the Canadian Embassy as per IRCC, rather than submitting the passports directly to the Canadian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. If not, we would have gone to Abu Dhabi & handed it over to the Embassy in person. Unfortunately it is taking more than 4weeks, that they had mentioned at VFS.

Getting the COPR from IRCC was much faster. We got our COPR overnight soon after we submitted all the required documents via our online profile. I agree that this is very surprising.

I submitted our passports on April 2nd via VFS in Dubai and am hoping we get them soon. If we get the COPR I need to do the landing before May 28,so also need to arrange the travel soon. I am regretting that I didn't select the self pick up option as the VFS rep automatically just chose the courier option for me. Keeping my fingers crossed. Anyone else submitted docs for COPR recently from UAE?

Yes I did infact in 13 days.
