You will become a PR, when you land in Canada as a PR and are allowed to enter after your CoPr is stamped, and you acquire the PR status. So the answer to the question will be No.
Thanks for your reply.

If they come with me for soft landing in Canada, will the authorities think that i am trying to fool them by taking non accompanying dependents during landing. Will they think that the dependents will not return and deny PR for me for misrepresentation?

Hi @legalfalcon I applied for EE FSW (O) with AOR 10 October 2017. I am still waiting for the PPR. I live in India.
I have a job in the USA now and will be moving in June 2018. My medicals expire in June 2018.
  • I wanted to know that if I move to the USA, do I need to inform IRCC about this change in my residence address?
  • If IRCC requires me to redo my medical exam, will I have the option to do it in the USA?
Thanks!

But I usually do not receive email when there is an update in the online account, what to do? I have sent email to call center about this but i dont think so they will be able to solve this issue.
Not all updates will get an email. Some updates are just a file movement and you will see the movement in your MyCIC, but nothing more.

PPR is always sent via email.

Dear Legalfalcon,
Its been almost 14 months since I submitted my application for PR. My Aor date is Feb 01 2017. The officer called my employer to verify my employment in Canada. My Employer gave proper answers regarding my employment however the officer was not satisfied with the answers given by my employer. On December 15 2017, I got Procedural Fairness Letter in which the officer had serious concern regarding my employment in Canada. In the letter the officer asked me to provide "Paystubs" & "Bank Statements that shows salary deposited to my account'. I provided my paystubs, bank statements, T4s, and Notice Of assessments for all periods on January 10 2018. Recently On February 27 2018, my background status went in "Progress" (IP2). Could you please tell me what is going on with my application ???
PFL is sent when the officer things that your employment you have claimed is not credible or cannot be verified. If you have sent them the required documents, no need to worry.

Hi @legalfalcon , on 19th March I raised a CSE to Canada Office asking for status of my application. Also I asked for the purpose of the missing email of 22nd January, whether it was a PPR or Additional Document Requirement email.

In response they are saying that please check the letter mailed (physical) on my residential address that is sent on 22nd January.

Do you have any idea that CIC send such letter? I think it is the mistake done by the agent who responding my CSE, as I already acknowledged for the email only.

Please provide your valuable inputs.
Never heard of IRCC sending any physical letters. They only communicate via email or MyCIC portal.

Hi @legalfalcon , My applications are all on "married status" and I recently received my visa stamped (work permit) on my current passport (maiden name) which will expire in Nov 2019. I am thinking if I should renew my passport and change it to my Married name before landing in Canada. Is changing my passport details (Number and married name) before my first landing affect my visa with the border services? Or should I change my passport with my married name after landing in Canada, hence, changing all my names on the soon Canadian IDs?

Second I have a pending PR application (received AOR) as well - How can I update my passport details if renew it with married name?

Appreciate your inputs. Thank you.
You can renew your Passport anytime, even in Canada through the Indian embassy. It will be faster and cheaper if you get it done in India. Changing your name post marriage will have no detriment. Also, your visa if valid on the old passport will remain valid.

Dear LegalFalcon,

I seek your opinion on my case.

FSWO (Based in New Delhi)
My AOR - 9th Sep 2017
RPRF Request - 2nd October (Paid and Submitted on 6th October)
ADR for newborn requested 31st October 2017
ADR submitted on 20th Feb(Deadline was 28th Feb 2018) with CAD150 Child processing fee, Birth Certificate, Passport, Medical and pending X-Ray of Spouse, Updated IMM0008 and 5406
UCI for newborn generated on 21st Feb 2018
IP2 on 27th Feb 2018(Background check > We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information)

No update since then, a friend of mine with same situation got PPR a couple of weeks ago(Both his and mine VO is CPC Ottawa and not New Delhi). I Called up IRCC last Friday via skype and they said.

- Completeness check > Completed
- Eligibility check > Completed
- Criminality check > Completed
- Medicals > Completed
- Security check > Not yet started

What do you think are my chances for getting PPR? We don't have any travel history. Any possibility of rejection at this stage? We ordered GCMS a few weeks back and yet to receive it.

Regards,
Satyam
Have you received your GCMS notes yet? What do they say?

Hi @legalfalcon

Hope you are doing fine. Do you think adding a representative or lawyer or consultant can be helpful to avoid unnecessary delays in our cases. Specially for those who are waiting more than 6 months? And a good lawyer can help? Or it will be useless to include a lawyer after AOR?

Thanks
Adding a representative has no impact on your application. If you have already filed your application, it will be decided on its merit. The lawyer is helpful before, not after filing the application.

Hi @legalfalcon

Recently I received Notification of Interest for Human capital Priorities stream under Ontario Nomination.

Currently I m holding a job offer from Ontario employer, which is supported by positive LMIA.
As per IRCC guidelines, I don't need to show proof of funds if candidate has valid job offer.

So the question is should I need to show settlement funds for my Nomination application under HCP category? If yes, then can I get help from my parents? how will I prove that this is my money?

Few more, I showed 16k CAD funds when I created my EE profile, so it has to be the same while making nomination application? You

Additionally, I m willing to provide past six months bank statement as per Nomination norms and condition.

Thanks in advance
If you are currently employed, you do not need to show PoF, if not, you will and you can get funds from your parents via gift deed.

You only have to meet the minimum required PoF. Even if you should more when you created the profile, will not make a difference.

Hello Legalfalcon

I received an email from CPC Ottawa on Monday 26/3 that my application is approved and a Ready for visa letter will be sent soon. How long does it usually take for them to send the PPR email after that? Its Thursday today and I was getting a little anxious. Should I send them an email?

Thank you
The PPRs are sent in batches, so it can takes 1-3 weeks.

@legalfalcon We had ordered for our CSIS report, which we received today. This is what is mentioned in it. Could be please help us out here.

This is my HUSBAND's CSIS report.
Could you please help us understand why are we stuck at this stage since last August (Status as mentioned in GCMS). Also it states we are entitle to raise a complain as well. How and why is this option availed?

The above mentioned report is Mine. I am unable to understand as to why there is no record of my Security. Is it because my Husband is the Primary Applicant and I am the Secondary Applicant. Also in this case how can I raise a concern if needed.
Please help us understand what exactly is going on with our application.
Our AOR-24th June 2017
Cleared R10 on 19th J
If the SS is ongoing then CSIS will not give the details. And for your spouse, since there is no record, then that means that the file was never sent to CSIS.

As regards the complaint to the Information Commissioner of Canada, that can be done is you are not happy with the information which has been provided to you in response to your request. In your case, then information has been provided, just that it is exempt. ICC will do nothing more.

You will have to wait it out.

Hi LegalFalcon! Thanks for staying back on the forum to help lost souls like us. I am a time sensitive query and need your help to make the most prudent decision.

Here is a summary:

a) Received my ITA in January as a principal applicant, and spouse as a dependent. In the meanwhile, got a chance to immigrate temporarily with an incredible job opportunity to an EU country, when we found out that my spouse's US issued Indian passport is not scanning properly with the immigration department of that country.

b) Consequently, we had to urgently apply a new passport for him. Turns out, since he was born outside the country, he cannot be issued an urgent Tatkal passport, and it will take a while. We have been struggling to pull strings and complete all paperwork, but it seems we will miss the deadline for eAPR submission by just two days.

Now, we have two options:

OPTION A: We submit the eAPR with my complete details and WITHOUT spouse's valid passport and emedical, explaining about it in LoE, and hope for an extension.

OPTION B: We decline the invitation on the 89th day (hoping that the passport is received at the nth moment), and get a new ITA. It may be noted that given current trends, we can easily get a new ITA in next few rounds. But since we will move countries (EU), will have a new address and maybe will have a few more PCCs to arrange, I am dreading the paperwork.

My queries:

a) Which option of the two will result in better chance of application not being rejected?

b) Is it allowed to submit application without an accompanying spouse's valid passport, explaining it in LoE?

c) Will I be eligible for next ITA round if I reject it at the last moment?

d) Will my emedical on the old ITA be still valid on the new ITA?

e) Do I have to edit my express entry profile with new passport details of spouse? eAPR application allows you to input new passport doc details.

f) If we move countries after the new ITA submission (ambitious, I know), will we have to get the visa process done only in the original country? Can our new country's visa office handle our application post submission?

Our deadline of submission is 10th April, so really hoping for an early response.

Thanks a tonne!
I was travelling in India and had limited access to internet. If you issue still persists, please re-post.
