What is with people like OP, where they try to find an easy way to come to canada like other poster say come on your own. People like op makes me sick because people come here on their own plus their own merit
The OP basically currently has no chance of becoming a PR via economic immigration, so is desperate for any loophole. The one that the OP was hoping for, doesn't exist.

So, you came here on your own merits? Or were you sponsored by your spouse?

my mom came to Canada as a child, and her younger sister was born in Canada plus i am born in Canada plus my mom's family been in Canada for over 50 years too but I sponsored my husband inland he's from Portugal he was on a work visa now he's a pr. my grandparents came here on their own merit in the early 1960's with their kids as landed immigrants so in other words I was born in Canada not sponsored not came in my own merit

Yes, but here we are discussing stopping Canada's family sponsorship. It is mentioned in the consequences.

Nobody is discussing stopping it. You can and will always be able to sponsor your most important family - spouse and dependent kids. There is also a program for your parents.

There is no general program to sponsor siblings, cousins, etc, which is how it should be.

They did in fact cut a program. Extended family sponsorship used to be possible through some of the PNP streams but these streams were halted.

ok but I understand but I consider spousal, their children and parents are important

I'm not sure what you are not understanding. Unless you marry a Canadian citizen or PR or find a way to immigrate on your own (skill or student or have a shed load of money to invest) you are NOT eligible to come to Canada. Your brother, cousin, uncle, etc CANNOT sponsor you now or likely ever. So, in plain English, the only way you are moving to Canada is if you:
1) Marry a Canadian citizen or PR
2) Qualify for a PR visa with your skills and experience
3) Have enough money to pay for a higher education program (college or university) or
4) Have enough money to invest in Canada

I would suggest you read the CIC website to see whether there's a visa out there for you that you meet the eligibility criteria for. In the meantime there is no sense in beating a dead horse! You're not coming to Canada by being sponsored by your family any time soon.

Good. The information you gave me was well understood. I would read the website, thank you very much for the explanation.;):)
