Medical Exam Passed to You do not need a medical exam

Hi,
On my wife's express entry portal, it shows the change to "medical exam is not needed" from "passed medical exam." What does this mean? She received the AOR on February 8, 2018, and passed the medical exam on February 17. I, along with my family, am in Canada with study permit, and we took the medical exam on February 7, 2018. My wife is the primary applicant with me and my son as dependents. The following is the application status on my wife's portal:

Application status: We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results: You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.
Review of additional documents: We do not need additional documents.
Interview: You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics: We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Final decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

Please let me know what should we expect next.
Thank you so much.

The same also happened to me. I am FSW Outland candidate with my application stuck in SS for long. For me, this change is very discouraging.

If you're a fswo that update means that your medicals expired and they will wait until they are ready to finalize your application to send you a request to redo your medical exam I'm in the same situation and under ss

The same thing happened to me. My medical expired this April. But i received a message saying I had passed My medicals after it expired. Then today, it updated to say that i do not need medical.
Is there anyone in the same boat as me? If yes, did you still get your PR?

I received ppr already but my status is still you don't need a medical. The profile status is not a real reflection in my case.
However, according to GCMS notes, my medial has been extended till later this year. (used to be expiring March this year ).

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts and scenario. My concern is, as referred in the message, the medical exam cannot be expired because we took the medical tests on February 7, 2018. So, this is an issue raises questions.

Hi all,
Let me explain what happened in our case so far. Before that let me tell you our medical status changed back to "passed" today. But the issue got resolved after some steps. After the medical status changed from "passed" to "we do not need a medical exam," my wife received a new medical call on May 11 through IMM 1017E form asking for the same medical test again, and it was NOT for the additional medical tests. This was surprising and heartbreaking as we paid 1000CAD (for three people including my two year old son) in Canada for the upfront medical tests which are valid for one year. I contacted the immigration medical center (where we did the upfront medical) and they told me they passed all test report to IRCC accordingly. My wife called the IRCC call center in Canada and they told us that our application is processed by Singapore office and we should use the Webform to contact them and send the upfront medical document. We did that and there was no response. Singapore office takes minimum 28 business days to respond to a Webform case specific inquiry. Since I had only 30 days to send the new medical report (do the medical tests through the immigration medical tests doctor and submit the IMM1017E from to the doctor), I called again to the same medical center where I did our upfront medical before to book an appointment. The sweet girl who sent our medical report to IRCC before (through the UMI number on the upfront e-medical report) said these new same medical tests are absolutely unnecessary but if we insist we have to pay again for the whole process. She told us to wait and try to contact the Singapore office in any other way other than the Webform since we sent the Webform query already. My wife sent an e-mail today to the Singapore office with the subject line "Urgent: Medical exam passed then IRCC asking for it again, please respond only 09 days left". She also mentioned in the e-mail that she sent this inquiry through Webform before. Apart from the automated e-mail answer, she received the e-mail (which is actually the answer of the Webform query) by today saying that "the medical examination call was an error, please ignore." And when she checked the online application portal the medical exam was changed back to "passed."
This is what happened to our application so far. We have not received a passport call yet. I hope this will be helpful for everyone here.
Please note, so far what I have learned from this forum, the Canada visa offices in India are prompt in dealing with such medical exam error issues; nobody, who is/was in the same situation like us, did a second same medical test. The offices in India solved this problem after the Webform query. You can always send them an e-mail as well. It will take some time but I think one should not do the same medical tests twice until IRCC asks for the additional medical test or the first one expires. The Singapore office has to deal with many types of visa applications from a number of countries, so they need time to solve any issue. We are just happy that this issue is resolved and we do not need to do any new medical tests.
