Hi Scylla ..... my son is going to sponsor us (parents) in 2019 - missed 2 sponsor us this year - 2018 ...... he has requisite income fulfils all criteria - ..... the cic site say they are processing applications recd in 2014 ..... 1..... what processing time can we expect ..... 2.... does having high income much above threshold level affect processing time like say some quotas or preferences etc ...... 3.... can an application submitted in 2019 take precedence over applications submitted in previous years ..... thanks and regards

There is no guarantee he will be selected next year.

1. Expect a few years.

2. No.

3. Of course not.

How many did they draw?
seems like more than 10k
100s per page, 14~15 pages
0 to 9, that's about 15,000?

New to this thread and indeed need guidance;

My wife received an invitation (on 21st March) to sponsor her parents, I am co-signing the applications.

My brother in law who is going to be 18 in April, will be depended child under his parents application and my sister in-law, she is turning 22 on 29 May 2018. Our application due prior 25th May 2018.

We are family of 4 and intend to sponsor 4 more (father in-law + mother in-law + brother in-law + sister in-law)

my question is,

1. By the time I send in the applications, she still be under 22 years old. Will IRCC consider her depended or they will just refuse the application? During the process she will be over 22 years.

thanks ....Canuck in uk ..... appreciate a straight forward reply ...... well it seems heavy backlog is cause of delay ..... also in past some ppl sponsor parents/GP without requisite threshold income ..... an attorney assured my son of faster processing - maybe he will file in normal way and later convert it into H&C grounds ...... resort to legal process for work permit etc ..... I have good life here but my son has a career in Canada ..... so he cant return to India - that's the irony ..... regards

He just wants your money. A lawyer cannot make the process go faster.

H&C is a long process with no guarantee of approval. If you file an H&C application, it will take longer than a regular sponsorship application.

Yes, she will still be a dependent. Her age will be locked in at the time of submission.

Attorney is trying to scam your son, they have zero control over how IRCC processes the application.

Sounds like you don't have any H&C reason whatsoever, so why would you even attempt a H&C app? This is just an abuse of the H&C system. Most likely it would be rejected, after which it will be difficult to even come to Canada as a visitor.

Yes your family size is 5 for 2015,2016,2017 LICO. Spouse and children (under age 22) of the sponsor are always included in family size, nothing to do with who is financially dependent on who.

Do we need birth certificates for parents being sponsored and what if parents do no have the marriage certificate? Thanks

Hi all,
For question 14 on the IMM5768 form, do I put my family of 5 or do I put family of 8 with my parents and sister?

Does anyone know if we need to have done the 2017 tax returns before the application?
Considering you need to either show your tax assessment form or they contact CRA directly, i feel this needs to be completed so they can see your latest net income
anyone know/ have an opinion?

thanks

Hi All,

On January 2nd 2018 I submitted the interest form to sponsor parents I mentioned both my parents name. I received my invitation to sponsor on march 20th. Due to recent change in family size (me,wife, both kids + parents = 6 ) my LICO is not enough to sponsor both my parents. Instead of not using the invitation for both can i sponsor any one (Either my father or mother). It's one time opportunity to receive invitation.I want to utilise this opportunity to sponsor atleast one of my parents.

Please help

Thanks
