Thanks for pointing that out
In Application to sponsor, sponsorship agreement and undertaking
The first question: If you are found ineligible... choose
withdraw, all processing fee less $75 will be refunded or
proceed, processing fees will be retained

In IMM 5748 form - Income Sources for the Sponsorship of Parents and Grandparents(2018)
the first question is:
1. Minimum Necessary Income - Indicate the minimum income required to sponsor the number of persons included in question 7 of the IMM 5768 based on the Federal Income Table for Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship for 2017, 2016, 2015 or 2016, 2015, 2014
the second question is:
2. Total Income Available to Sponsor
Complete the table in questions 3 and 4 below. Add the amounts in boxes 3(h) and 4(h) and enter the total for each year. If this amount is less than the amount of the minimum necessary income above, you DO NOT MEET the sponsorship eligibility requirements. DO NOT SEND YOUR APPLICATION.

So for me the chapter is closed :(

One of the form required to be filled is IMM5768. My wife is a co-signer on for my mother's application. Question 15 on it says if the co-signer is Unemployed/employed/self employed? My wife is on Maternity leave and will join back to her employment in three months. I have to send the application before she starts her employment. So what shall I say on Q-15? Is she unemployed now?

I know it doesn’t but someone told me that i need to show some bank balance in my parents account and as well as in mine and it seems pretty big amount like $40k, I don’t have that kinda money laying around. Thanks

Bank balance is irrelevant and doesn't need to be showed.

The only amounts needed are the sponsor/co-signers income from tax returns, that's it.

Hi Team ,

can anyone answer , My father is old and he don't have birth certificate .

as per checklist they ask Sponsor's birth certificate 4.proof of principal applicant's relationship to Sponsor

is it my birth certificate i have to submit or father .

it suppose to be mine , but just cross-verify it .

I don't think there is any point in me arguing about what to believe or what not. I gave my two cents of information which I gathered by going through cic methods to get information. I only advised to call cic and confirm again. In the end it is up-to individuals to verify all the sources of their information and do what they think is best for them. Anyways good luck to those who got selected in lottery, hope they get united with their parents soon.

Rob is 100% correct. This is easily verified by simply looking at the forms, which have absolutely no provisions for family sizes in the different years. The family size at the time of submission applies to every year.

Your parents may sponsor your brother on a later date when they become PR, but you brother is not included on the PR application of your parents. Again, your brother is included in the family size.

This is wrong. Dependents are fully included in the app and become PRs with the parents.

If you are sponsoring your parents, it has to be your birth certificate for them to verify relationship to your parents.. If you are sponsoring grandparents, you have to include your parents' birth certificates as well as yours to verify both relationships to your parents and your parents' to your grandparents. That is what I understood.
So if you are sponsoring only your father, it has to be just yours to prove your relationship to him.

I am in a weird boat where my birth certificate doesn't have my name (common in India when I was born), just my parents' name.
I did do an affidavit for my own PR application. Hope that suffices.

Greeting Folks!

First of all, I would like to thank each one of you and especially the VIP members of the forum for helping everyone and us newbies with our queries.
I have been waiting for the invitation to sponsor my parents since 2017 and finally for the invite this yr. I want to get this going full throttle as we just have 60 days to submit the completed application.
I have 2 queries and would appreciate any help on answers those.

1. This is with regards to the NOA for last 3 yrs. I have been PR since Oct 2013 but had moved to US from 2014 to 2016, returning back in June 2016. I would be filing on 2017 return this week so I should have NOA within a couple of weeks. I'm sorted for 2017 and 2016 ( I meet the minimum requirements), however, for 2015, I did not file Canadian Tax Return. I have the income and have filed my taxes in the US. May I know if I can include my US tax return for FY 2015 or Do I have to file the 2015 tax return in Canada and include that to be eligible?

2. This is regards to the Spelling of my Last name. Me and My Parents spell our last name differently. All my documents have my last name spelled different to my parents( "PH" as against "F", even through the pronunciation is the same). May I know if the difference in spelling can cause some issues and if there is a way to certify( some sort of affidavit) that both the spelling is for the same last name.

Thank y'all in advance of all the assistance !
