After four years of struggle and being stuck in 386 and 398, I finally cracked IELTS this March and reached 440. I am very hopeful now and I am predicting an ITA by May end. To everyone who's losing hope, please don't. Life changes over small things and the more the want it, the closer it ll come to you. This is Ray of hope and let's spread love and hope!

Name on education doc : rohit kumar

Name on passport rohit kumar pahwa

Pahwa is the last name

And LOE needs to be submitted after I get an ITA?
Yes it has to be once you submit all documents post ITA. Meanwhile you can get the affidavit made to save time.

while you can explain it an LoE, best course of action would be to prepare a name affidavit (INR 50 stamp paper is fine), and attach it to one of the sections (I am doing it in the EDU section) when submitting your application. This is of course post ITA.

Hello Friends,

I have got the ITA last week (from India with CRS 472) and in process of preparing my documents. I have a few doubts and want to post it here and see if anyone can help me out. I did search something similar , found some relevant answers but I have some specific personalised ones. Kindly advise.

  1. Me and wife are going though medicals this weekend. We are expecting our second child and the expected delivery date is Sept '18. So I assume the doctor will put the X-ray on hold. Does this mean my application also goes on hold ? Will my CRS affect during this time. I mean during my b'day / her b'day.
  2. I have already started collecting documents related to Experience letters (8 years in 3 different companies). All these documents will have date in them as March or April 2018 Can I still go ahead and upload them. Will they be validated now or only after my second child?
  3. My mom was managing all my finances. So she had all the money I sent over the past many years in various forms. I have a cheque from my mom for ~23k CAD. I am planning to prepare a gift deed + Affidavit for this this month and upload it as POF. Should I keep this in my savings account till around Sept/ Oct ? Can I put this in a Fixed Deposit till then.

1. Not sure about this - someone else can answer.
2. Yup, dates of the letters themselves are fine. All documents will be validated after you pay the application fee.
3. No need for an affidavit - a gift deed is sufficient.

What I am not clear about at the moment are your intentions. Do you intend to go ahead and apply anyway or do you plan to keep everything on hold till your 2nd child? As long as you inform IRCC about your wife's current condition, don't think you need to put anything on hold.

Thank you @zagcollins for your response. I am not planning to put anything on hold but I was told by people + some threads in the forum that IRCC will place my application on hold until i update the details of my second child [add the child in my profile , passport + medical clearance ] .

Thanks a ton for this clarification. I am in a similar position, with my spouse not accompanying me and was very unsure about being able to sponsor my family at a later date due to several conflicting opinions online. There are a few videos on youtube by "self-proclaimed" immigration experts which state that trying to sponsor your non-accompanying spouse later will be considered as defrauding the system. This had made me apprehensive and forced me to consider re-filing my application.

Thanks again.
You can sponsor your spouse later but be prepared for a very long wait, maybe two years or more. I read on the 27th of February that IRCC had processed abt 20k plus of applications for family sponsorship visas out of about 75k. On the day of my medicals, I met someone who had been at it for about 3 years and was just getting to do her medicals.

I had the same problem. My DOB is present in my educational documents. So I did not write any LOE. Not sure if it will be considered an issue. So make sure your DOB is present.

Mostly people from developing nations did not follow the first name, last name format atleast until the previous decade. Only the passport had last name, which forced us into putting either the dad's name or the family name.

Welcome to the forum, I would suggest to read through the previous pages of this thread to get an idea..
