Dummy but real question:
How about if I am late 10-20 minutes for the Citizenship exam? Are they very strict with this time, or not much?

[Exam scheduled in Downtown, very far from my home and traffic is bad in the morning. 8:15am, And I have kids to drop off to daycares. Almost can not make it 8:15, maybe 8:30 to 8:40 arrive. Nobody at home help me that day.]
which city are you ?
same here at 8:15 downtown Montreal but daily I woke up at 5:30 to get ready for the day also to hear out the coming birds from South America which's a sign of summer right near the door
I don't drive down town , I take the AMT train 25 minutes to downtown the fastest way ever .

Likely a request for fingerprints. Less commonly this is a request for additional information.
Thanks for your reply
I just checked my wife’s Ecas and there is no 4th line there!
Just for me , despite the fact that we send our application same time in one envelope and the AOR and inprocess dates were the same!

Just a question:
The fourth line appeared on my Ecas. I contacted CIC call center. The agent confirmed it is the Fingerprint request.
Should I go to the police station or the RCMP and do it? Or should I wait to receive the letter and take it with me?
Which one process it faster: the police station or the RCMP?

That happens.
Fingerprints (if that's what they're asking) are commonly asked because the person applying for citizenship has a name/date of birth similar to someone who has a criminal record. Fingerprints will uniquely identify you, so they can make sure it's not you who has the record.

I respectfully disagree. Dpenabill has helped so many people, real people who strive to become Canadian citizens, with his/her thorough and educated advice on this forum. The fact that he/she spends his/her valuable time and energy to help complete strangers who are having difficulties is in no way indicative of a lack of "life" but rather qualities of kindness and generosity that permit a very fulfilling life.

Also, this forum does not tolerate bullying.
Thanks for this post. Yes, dpenabill is an invaluable resource on this forum. Yet, there is always that 10% of the population that can never recognize value. For them, the only hope is fake news.

Hi there,
She may receive it later. My husband and I applied as a family too; however, he received his FP request a month before me! It could also be not required for her.
Good luck

Hi @Kan_Sri @razerblade
Please update. I posted 3 times asking to update :)

Hello,

I received a FP request dated on March 7. My spouse received it a month ago although we applied as a family!

Please update.

Thanks for the info, did you have the same interview/exam date together though?

You need to wait for the letter because because letter contains information for FP agency where to send fingerprints to.

If you do fingerprint without the letter, then you will have to do fingerprints again.
