Hi Rohan,
I am in the same boat with you buddy. I applied for my PNP paper based in July 17 alongside my wife & received AOR in Sept 17, since then, I haven't heard back from them. My wife is qualified for ee as primary applicant, so I called CIC to know our options. The officer said she's eligible to apply for PR through ee if she receives ITA and can list me me as dependant this time, without conflict & I can also have my PR processing fee refunded if i cancel the PNP application before processing begins. But how would know if PNP PR processing hasn't began when applying for ee?
Thanks for the information buddy. Processing fees, most likely will not be refunded. However, if you have paid RPRF fees then it can be refunded if you cancel your application before final decision is made.

if you mean by paper based PNP and EE.

Yes you can, I already have!

I have seen many people in this very forum who have done so, there is a very very good chance that PR through EE will be much faster than paper-based application.

I have called CIC, the CIC call center agent said the same, they promise to process the PR EE application in 6 months are less.
While paper-based normally takes 16-20 months!!
Hello,

I have my paper-based PR application ongoing after my OINP for a year now, received a medical request on Jan 9, 2018. Also, received an invitation to apply for permanent residency on my Express Entry profile today. Now, the additional forms that am filling up have a question:

'Have you applied for Permanent Residency before?'

What should my answer be as I already have a paper-based PR application ongoing but Express Entry is a first time!
Please advice. Thank you!

Could having a paper-based application affect the EE processing time in any whichever way?
Also, thank you for the prompt reply. Appreciate!
This is the only thing I can think of and stated by IRCC:
If you get permanent resident status through Express Entry, we will automatically withdraw your paper application and notify you. Likewise, if your paper application is approved and you get permanent resident status, we will cancel your Express Entry application.
Good Luck!

Hello Everyone,

I applied under Ontario PNP under Masters Graduate stream in October 2017, got my Nomination Letter first week of January and it is valid till June 2018. I have already been working since April 2017 so in April 2018, I will be eligible to apply under Express Entry CEC.

My question is, when I create an profile in express entry it asks me, Do you have nomination from a province? Do i select a yes or no? I dont want to apply under the paper based application by accepting the PNP and get stuck for 16-18 months when I can get PR in 6 months under Express Entry CEC.

Is there anyone who has similar situation or can help with this question?

Thanks.

Hello,
I am in the same situation, I have a paper based pr file ongoing. I received my mpnp which was not eligible for express entry but am stuck since 10 months now with no medical request yet. I am not sure if i can go ahead and apply for EE as i am eligible.what happens to my pr file then?

How did you applied for both of them?

I have applied for paper based PNP and linked it into my online account. Now I am going to apply for EE but there is not EE button on my online account and CIC said you can't have two PR application at a same time and the system will not allow you to create a new one.

I have the same question! Called cic yesterday and they said you’re allowed to have both pnp and ee applications, but technical support said because I have an I -progress pnp app linked to my account, it won’t allow me to create ee profile. What to do...?

The answer is 'Yes' and the number should be your paper-based application number. Good Luck!
